I'd generally go along with your comment, it is annoying when people give silly scores, especially to images that ribbon who's scoring breakdown show the odd 1, 2, or 3 mark - unbelievable! Obviously, it makes you wonder why such low scores are being handed out like that. The only assumption, would be to try to gain the odd position by lowering other users averages. I don't generally tend to get annoyed with it anymore, because I think those type of scores will be handed out to the majority of people, so it will all balance itself out! Pretty pointless, but it's an issue certainly worthwhile discusing, and I'd even offer a suggestion of not including the highest and lowest 5-10% of scores handed out, to try to eliminate this stupid practice! As much as I want my images to do well, I'd rather do well on merit rather than through scullduggery. |
