i'm a total idiot .. i posted flowers yesterday for day 30 as a sort'v goodbye to this wonderful thread .. i've just realised that there are 31 days in october not 30 !!! ... so now i'll have to go out and photograph something for the last day .. you might even get some more flowers !!!!! :)

I'm sure there will be a few late posts and hopefully plenty of commenting after the last shooting day. I think this one went well overall and I'm impressed at how many made it to the end. It's been great to reinforce old friendships, gain new ones, and see people step out of their comfort zones a bit (or a lot!) and grow as a photographer.
The original plan was to do this every other month so that sets us up for a December Slice of Life. I will start a thread towards the end of November to kickoff the December SOL - watch for it! |

Hey, you are not a idiot, but just a busy photographer, out and about taking images most of the time like me.
It is a bonus having an extra day....
I have so enjoyed this side challenge, and I am personally very pleased with the results of my postcard images for this challenge.
I am going to add my favorites images/postcards, that I like the best, from my selection of postcards.

 Time to get the rake out! The apricot tree is loosing it's leaves. When my children were small one of them looked out the window late in the fall and started to laugh. She said, "Look mom, the trees are barenaked!" To this day I can't look at a tree in the fall after the leaves are gone without laughing. Not the best image, but not much time today.

This morning on the way to work, I was not committed to getting there on time. I made a stop and this frost-kissed field was beckoning me. SO ... of course, I wasted another few minutes and snapped it.
I wish I would have spent more time lollygagging because maybe I'd have gotten out the tripod and been even later.
Just wanted to say ... before the end of this wonderful thread. Thanks all. I have fallen behind in comments, I'm trying to catch up as much as possible. You all have been great. Keep in touch!

day 29: 
i have a day 30 entry, but i think it might be my free study entry so i'm going to be selfish and not share. i'd share outtakes, but you'd know exactly which one was mine.
i'm still thoroughly impressed with myself at actually keeping up with this. i've never been more than 1 day late, which is totally amazing to me. especially this month. :)
