 so i'm volunteering for this silent auction art event to benefit a food rescue charity here in town.

two classes of kids from a local school are creating plates in their art class to sell at the event, with the proceeds going to the rescue.

the kids all got to go to the charity's headquarters on monday and take a tour and have lunch. i went with them, 'cause they think i'm one of them.

anyway, in the loading dock where food comes in (they get truckloads of stuff from groceries and restaurants), there's a giant scale where they weigh in the donated food. we decided that it would be fun to get the entire class on the scale to see how much they weighed.

they weighed in at 1975 pounds. they were disappointed that they were so close to 1 ton, so i hopped on there with them and we went WAY over. :)

I like the b&w. You sure captured the excitement in their faces at just the right time it looks like. That sounds like it was lots of fun.
