this is day 1 of james_so
i'm putting this in here like this coz i dont know how else to comment on it .. tried in his site but have to register or something ...


its a stunning photograph ... beautiful rich colours and great contrasts ... excellent composition ..

edit ... well bugger that didnt work .. cant see the image here ...

Roz, when you want to post on James' blog (or any other like it), you just click the Comments link and then when you've done typing your comment, choose either "other" or "anonymous". If you choose "other", you'll need to put in a website address. You could use your dpc profile for that. If you click "anonymous", you don't have to enter any more addresses. In all cases, you have to type the little code that you see. But that code is harmless and doesn't mean you're signing up for anything.

Day 2

This used to be The Mikatam Lounge. It's now a bingo hall. We used to go there in the 70's before we were of legal age to drink. (That's probably why it's a bingo hall now.) It was the "happenin" place. Bob Seger played here in the early 70's before he was famous.Yesterday I got a message from MelonMusketeer, a member on here. He saw the pic I posted yesterday and remembered Genesee.In the 70's he and a friend drove up here from Fl. with their guitars to play at the Mikatam.

Sorry if it's a PITA ;-) it just seems a better way for me to do it rather than putting them in my portfolio. Please don't feel obliged to comment, I will only be able to return them if and when I can find time (weekends if I'm lucky)..

Just about 8 miles away is the NJ Sculpture Garden. It's a great place to wander around with camera in hand. The colors are muted, but I like it and according to DPC (Team Suck) friends ... that's all that counts.

Day 2, down at Lake Ontario during my lunch hour at work.
This shot is taken in a town called Pickering just a five minute walk from the Pickering Nuclear Station where I work.

Here's a little something that's closer to where I actually live outside Harrisburg.

I love the contrast between five minutes and twenty minutes away.

I'm thinkin' tomorrow will be more snowy 'scapes!

Couple of people suggested closer shots - will post some extras when I get home from work tonight. I used this specific shot because you could see the Tribune sign in the background. I do have a variety of different angles! Go Bears!

day2 front of my house

Got home after dark again so i just stepped outside and took this. At 10 degs and me already in my pj's i didnt take much time. Ill try to do better this weekend.

YAY!
I've started.

This is day one:

Taken on February 1st at 7:00 am before work. Our first snow! That's all we got, then it rained, and now it's gone.

This is day two:

Taken a few days ago (I'm already cheating!). I was going to use this for the Table challenge...but I thought it may get hammered...so i went with the shallow dof pic instead. I still liked this though.
