There isn't a size limit to portfolio shots, but there is a forum rule about posting large images in threads. Images larger than 500 pixels in either dimension (about 30k) should be posted as links or thumbs.

Well, whenever I upload large photos (larger than 800px on a side) to my portfolio, they get resized to 800px on the longer size (which I thought was 720px til I just tried a little test). I guess I could always link to a bigger one on photobucket, for example.

Day 5 EXTRA!!
This was taken in my dining room, IS my favorite portrait subject as well as my raison d'etre, and I think it's a pretty spiffy shot.

I really hate my b&w convertions. on all of my photos.
if someone please please could tell me what I am doing wrong and how I can improve?
I use channel mixer for b&w and then highlight/shadow, levels, contrast and curves.

I'm at work right now so I don't have access to photoshop, but if you post your original and the B/W conversion steps and values (so I can duplicate what you've done), I'll take a look and see. I could post what I find once I get home (in 6 hours or so). |

you are very very kind!! thank you!
but the first one is an old photo, I shot it with canon ixus500 which died some time ago in b&w. I only added contrast/levels/curves and high pass... mayb some other photo? I don't like any of my b&w:) |

5th Feb:
Unfortunately despite living 2 mins from beautiful countryside, the route to the office every morning by bike involves 90% rush-hour dual carriageway :(
Not the nicest of journeys, but this road is so familiar to me, its very much a part of my life up here, so thought it deserved a photo. |

Day 5
My little girl; she's sick; I'm sick; so this is where I live today!
Caught up on some comments today, but hopefully tomorrow's better for all of us (and the wife doesn't get sick in the meantime).
See you all tomorrow.

Actually taken in January when it was not nearly as cold as it is today. This is down by the Rappahannock River. |

Day 5
Elmira, NY
It's entirely too cold here today, barely breaking single digits Fahrenheit. I opted to stay inside and show where my wife says I live.

Nothing special about the train but I kinda like the sky.
This shot was taken on Feb 3rd. I don't have time to shoot every day so I hope nobody minds that I use 3 or 4 shots from a single day of shooting. |

Day 5: Metro
I have to admit I'm sometimes going to take a bunch of shots in one day and spread them out for days when I can't or don't shoot. This was a shot I took on Friday.

I actually took this one on the 3rd, but I spent my afternoon/evening waiting on the DHL deliveryman to come pick up my old broken monitor and take it back to Dell. Thus, I forgot to go shoot something. (I suppose I could have shot the deliveryman, but that just sounds bad. :) |
