 This shot was taken as I came to a stop sign in Moncks Corner, SC. I have no idea what the plant is, or what they produce. I just thought that maybe the shot would come out better than it did. :)

Hi Eric.

Have to say on this one I'm not a fan of the over saturated feel. I think it would have been a lot more dramatic to go closer to the desaturated side but still leave hints of color in the image. Doing so would leave very little green (bushes become less of a focal point) and the grass along the road and the red hints of the smokestacks put the opposing forces in their natural place.

Oversharpen a bit to give it a gritty feel and the whole thing becomes dirty...just like that smoke.

Contrast betwen the beautiful vibrant greens and the dark gray smoke only give this shot more impact, should be used as a poster against pollution.

this is great, especially as you took it from your car!!!!
Actually I'm just assuming you were in your car, you just said "as I came to a stop", you could have been walking, on a bike, skateboarding or riding an ostrich for all I know!!!!!
Anyway, the road just leads you into the picture very nicely and also makes me wonder what the plant is!!!!

I like how bright the stacks are against the sky and the curve and dip of the road leading towards them.

Very vivid colours (maybe too much so on the green/yellow) I especially like the contrast between the orange on the towers and the blue sky.
