Current scores...

Procrastination
Avg Vote: 5.0000

Black and White Portrait II
Avg Vote: 4.4286

I can't believe my procrastination is at a 5. To me, it's awful to look at. Someone nailed my intent in a comment that sounded so like posthumous, I had to check and make sure he didn't change his user name.

My portrait, well, I already explained that.

congrats to all the personal bests!!

I have something the suck league would be proud of:
my b&w portrait had 3.000000000 this morning with around 40 votes:)))
I haven't had so much fun for a long time.
well, this is not me, I mean not usual me. I wanted to try new roads.
it is a photograph, just a photo, nothing else. I wanted to make an experiment:)
now it's up to 4.don't-remember-what with comments saying how weird it is:))
oh well, the battle of sexes is next.

I got one heck of a comment from e301 on my Procrastination entry.....he really nailed it dead on as far as a couple of things that I did and made a seriously critical, constructive observation that is dead nuts on. He was complimentary as well; his is probably the most accurate, insightful comment I've gotten since joining DP Challenge.

BTW, at last I checked, I've gotten one comment from other Team Suck members on my entries.....don't you guys love me?.....8>)

Hey, uh.....can I get some critique on this one?

Wow! I've seen your work and always been intrigued.....and I really like it.

I almost wrote you a PM yesterday, but I couldn't figure out how to tell you I think you're cool, beautiful, and talented without sounding like a dirty old man once you went to my profile wondering who I are....and saw that I am a funny-looking old dude.....8>)

Here I thought I had the entry sucking the most 'cause it started at around 3.5.

I think the Team Suck OOB technique is just misunderstood by all the "normal" people.....BWA-HA-HA-HA!!!!!!

Last note before I take off to actually get something accomplished today.....I certainly appreciate all the work that members of Team Suck put forth to help and support each other with particular kudos to those who tirelessly take the time to sift through, compile, and post results.

You guys are stellar!

I'm actually shocked, as I was expecting a much lower score on this (realize it could still drop like a fifty pound sack of poo).

I'm pretty happy, as I used a function on camera I'd never tried out before.

So far I have 6 comments on my Song Title. They all like it but say the same thing "Should have been a tighter crop".

I haven't had the nerve to look at the score yet!

Bob, you have an iron will. There's no way I could resist that "update" button during challenges :-)

If you would be willing to put an unaltered version (before processing-image size change only-the longest side should be 800 pixels or less) of this in your portfolio, we might be able to make some post processing suggestions.

How do you determine that?

I'd love to know how the votes are going.

As Melethia said, I did the simple math of 5+x/2=3 so x=1. However, if you have time and are so inclined, you can see how the voting is going all through the week by using this spreadsheet. I did that for a couple of weeks and had fun, but then got tired of it, and now just watch the average.

I'd be delighted to put up the original, really horrible, unmolested image.

Here:

This file was only renamed......*ZERO* editing.

If it's too big or stupid, you have to tell me and tell me specifically what to do and in some cases how to do it.

I never touched any post processing 'til last July when I got my Nikon and I know very little.

LOL re: unmolested image! If I get a chance this afternoon, and you don't mind, I might go play with this a little.

MIND!!!!!

How dare you offer to put your experience, expertise, consideration, and time into helping and teaching me!

Shame on you for suggesting such a selfless act!!!

What were you thinking!!!

Yes, PLEASE!!! (grovel, grovel....)

All of my knowledge, and that's quite limited, is empirical, so any time anyone, for any reason, wants to mess with one of my pics, just say the word.

I love what you guys have done with most of the ones previously, and the worst thing that could happen is that it wouldn't appeal to me subjectively as far as the end result. But I bet I'll still learn something from the technique even if I don't necessarily like the result.

Process away, ladies and gents, just use short sentences and small words to describe what you've done.....I write slowly.....8>)

Also, I have some pictures on the link I provided earlier that I would like some Team Suck memebers to try their processing on. It's just interesting to see what other can do.

For trying a totally new concept, that's a solid score. Plus you've got tons of comments! I only have one so far, and my photo is just out-and-out bizarre. I expected low score but lots of comments. Instead, relatively okay score (5.7) and only one. Go figure, can never tell what the voters will think and/or like.

Hey, didn't someone ask a while back whether snakes were a bad subject for DPC? Apparently not:

Washington, DC

Anyone know where this was taken from? The caption says Washington, DC. It looks like the Washington Monument in the background.

Looking down the right side of the Lincoln Memorial, across the reflecting pool to the Washington Monument.

Look at this shot:

Note the column on the left side as we face it. Walk between those columns and the wall to your right that separates you from the statue area. Now turn around and you'll see the view in the shot you asked about.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that few things are bad subjects on DPC if the photo is technically well executed and has artistic appeal.
