Challenge: Fences (Advanced Editing V*)
Camera: Fujifilm FinePix S5600Z
Location: Birkdale, Qld
Date: Jan 2, 2007
Aperture: F8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/125
Galleries: Abstract, Sky
Date Uploaded: Jan 2, 2007

I was hoping for white fluffy clouds for this shot, instead it was a grey overcast day so I blew out the sky.

Levels
Cloned (badly) one annoying little cloud that went a funny color
Selective color
Gradient tool
Neat image
Dodged the tail a little
50% grey fill layer
Cloned a dark spot on the post that got there by accident during the PP

The haloing on the tail is annoying, it appeared during the selective color and I don't know how to fix it :( The haloing on the fence I like, it gives definition to the fence links, it's a result of blowing out the sky so far to start with.

It was a good learning exercise.

This was my blue ribbon pick for this challenge. It looks very real and is so creative. Great sharpness and clarity. 10.

A very cool find! I like the perspective. The shot has very nice color and contrast. The only nitpick is I see a hint of the post there as if you where trying to remove it? Would leave it there for realism but on the other hand, let the imagination go wild ;) I guess some folks didnt look close enough and didn't see the post and asked this shot be validated. I'm glad you passed :)

Very Hitchhiker's Guide-esque. Not a bad thing at all if that wasn't what you were going for, but if it was, then CONGRATS for doing it superbly.
