I would hope not! But if you have severe dislike for spiders (or even arachnaphobia) you may not be ABLE to vote more than a one for a spider shot. Would I like that score on MY spider shot, probably not, but if I knew you and your situation I would understand. That is all I'm trying to say...
Different people are going to voter different ways and take different pictures. Not much we can do about it but accept it and try to understand!

Oh, wow, how quickly we got of the subject here! I wasnât suggesting blocking the viewing of particular pictures nor was I focusing on Tracyâs âTaken by Surpriseâ⦠what I am suggesting is to add to the restrictions oh subject matter, which now state:
⢠Artwork. Literal photographic representations of the entirety of existing works of art (including your own) are not considered acceptable submissions, however creative depictions or interpretations are permissible. This includes, but is not limited to paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, and computer artwork.
⢠Nudity. Nudity is an acceptable form of art on this site. Photographs may not, however, show a penis or a vagina or any acts of sex. Nudity should be presented in a tasteful manner.
What I propose is an additional bullet for road kill, which might look something like this (to paraphrase âNudityâ):
⢠Road kill. Road kill is an acceptable form of art on this site. Photographs may not, however, show decomposed bodies. Road kill should be presented in a tasteful manner.

Tasteful? How bout with peas, carrots, and pertaters?
And now to the technical side. Once something is dead...it is decomposing. What if someone sees a macro shot of a maggot on that decomposed animal, that looks interesting? Wait, maggots are gross, too. Bottom line is, we can shoot what we like, if you don't like it, don't look at it.
I still don't understand the, "I hate spiders (or roadkill, whatever), it gets a one" thing. I am starting to hate cats, but would never give a one because of that. The picture has to be terrible also.

If you say you can't show a decomposed body then you are going to take away photographing of skeletons, which are actually considered decomposed bodies. There is a whole art culture dedicated to that, take a look at all the bull skulls of the southwestern art. |
