This one. The overall effect always wows me, and makes me wish I had taken it.
This one comes in second. Something about the colors and the deep simplicity.

I would be inclined to add my vote to the mountain goat at the Grand Canyon too, but this one by  Sherpet also deserves a mention. The Odd Couple.

Well, I started trying to choose from my favorites list, and couldn't narrow it down farther than to 5 or 6 photos, so I chose the one that makes me think the most in addition to being one of the most beautiful

I think this shot is absolutely fabulous. To me, it just says "urban decay" more than any shot I've seen.

I think the key to an unbelievable image is threefold:
1. Technically able and proficient enough to execute your thought.
2. Being at the right place at the perfect time: Serendipity.
3. Appealing to the viewer in some basic, yet profound way.
These two photos capture all these elements. In the case of the third element, it appeals to my sense of adventure, travel, discovery and (I'll admit) envy to have been there at that moment.

As I get older, I more and more realize that if you have #3, you don't need #1 or #2... (or 4, 5, or 6, or 17, or 32)

That's quite true..Except if you can't properly expose a photograph, for instance, then you can never begin to appeal..heh. That's why I added that first premise.
