My wonderful husband Peter, yes, he is the shorter one of the two fine gentlemen in the image. Both men are good friends, and size isn't important, as it whats inside that counts.....

If I didn't know both gentlemen, one would say they look like the "Odd Couple" standing quietly, and looking towards the sun as it goes down.....

I hope you all appriciate the "real" message behind this image, just read the title as it says it all.....

Sherryl,

This is a great picture, I've seen it before and loved it. I did think it was in my favorite... I was wrong. Mistake has been corrected. Very well done.

Sherryl,

You have an excellent eye for composition. The shapes in the clouds echo the shapes in the water and both draw the eye to the taller man, thus emphasizing the contrast between their sizes. The result is a very powerful image that I like very much.

I left a comment on your Square Crop image in which I said that the use of overly bright fill flash weakened the image. This image was also taken with strong fill flash--and I also think that it would be better without it. The natural light in the scene is shining towards the front of the two men so their backs should be in shadow. But their backs are brightly lit and there are even shadows going towards the apparent light source. To me, this gives the image an unnatural quality. If you had turned off the flash, maybe it would even have gotten a ribbon.

One of my faves in this challenge. I'm figuring this is in Queensland ;-)
The only thing that's missing is a tiny bit of space at the bottom - you cut off the seagull's legs!

Great little slice-of-reality, more than a little poignant. Two nits: I wish you had a tad more foreground for the dwarf's feet, and I wish the hor part of the sky were not so glaringly white. I love the effect of the fill flash here. It's an almost-great picture, a high score from me.

I like the lighting here. The one cloud is a little blown out, but it's not so bad.

Oh this is by FAR my favorite photo in this challenge! It's a WONDERFUL concept, and you have executed it to such perfection! The dramatic sky could not be better. The ocean "sky line" is beautiful. And its wonderfully crisp and sharp. This is a 10 with NO hesitation!!!
