Perhaps because you're blowing your own horn here when this thread is about pointing out others that you thought didn't do as well as you thought they should.

It's a rare event when everyone is completely satisfied with the results of their own entry.

Just kind of a polite thing to leave your own out of this, that's all. If you feel you need more feedback and/or want to discuss your personal entry then start your own thread?

"POST YOUR" thats what it says.

if you look at my track record Im not trying to toot my own horn...

I have never talked about an Individual image of mine before. Least if I have it was started by someone else.

Yeah Maybe I should just go have a beer and settle for what I got... but I don't drink and I don't like to settle.

I felt this shot was Underated, so I posted it.

Why do ya all keep attacking me about it. ya know,it will go away just like everything else. I said my piece and yet, other need to keep dragin it on.

What about the other person who Posted their own image... Why isn't anyone attacking them?

littlegett...

i really liked your image and i agree with you that it should have placed higher. i didn't get to your image, but i would have given it an 8. it shows personality, and has great contrast. i liked the wrinkly sheet in the shadow. one of the first things i thought was.. "i like the wrinkles"..

I count at least two posts that have mentioned the other person who posted their own photo - generally thats not what these threads are for - its to point out the photos that you voted 10's and didn't get the same recgonition from the rest of the voters.

Oh, come on guys! I started this thread and while I agree that I worded it badly it really doesnt matter to me at least whos image(s) you choose. your own or someone else's. Again I apologize for the confusing title but lets be civil.

Agreed, though I would have made it B&W myself I gave this image a '10'. It is classic high contrast.

Agreed this image got a nice score by DPC standards and that it is a top notch high contrast image in the traditional mold. I wish I could do as well. Mine was one of the three '10's this image got and is a personal favorite in this challenge.

Here is my photograph. I will say I was very dissapointed. I thought I would at least get to 6 and get out of the dreaded 5s range.

and here were some of my favorites...

I disagree with all the "if not for the frame" comments. I mean, I don't like the frame but I wouldn't bash the photos score because of it.

And I want to sy that I think there are so many overrated photographs in this challenge in general. I really just don't get it.

Forgot about that one. Wouldn't put it in the top top, but def expected better. Wishing I had bumped my score of it now.

You know what... *I* underrated this shot, gave it a 6. I guess I looked at it too quickly. It's actually a really wonderful pile of shapes. Maybe I overlooked it because it's not high contrast, as far as I can tell.

I guess I am not the best judge of what is and is not high contrast but I thought it had a good level of color contrast. I also liked it because of the contrast of old and new.

I almost submitted a sunrise taken the same morning. Would that type of shot be considered a more high contrast shot? I thought it would be but I also thought that was too easy.

D'oh! ya know, if I'd thought of that, I'd definitely have given you a higher score!

This image ribboned in the original "high contrast" challenge, although it was subsequently DQ'd for time/date stamp on camera being set wrong :-(

I neglected to post this one, because it was DQ'd, but it is just wonderful and I made it a favorite:

First of all, this is a great image. But there is a sort of risk with an image like this because it had nationalistic / patriotic overtones. It's a great shot but it's such a common subject in the US that it might lose the WOW factor for that reason alone - IMO.

I just don't see what people didn't like about this one though. It was about 140 out of 388. I gave it an 8 and I'm really tough judge ;)
