some new ones...

Here are a few. I often feel that the things we do to a photo that some consider "digital art" rather than "photography" are more in spirit with an object or space than a standard photograph. For example...

This image captures the atmosphere and feel more than the original.

This one likewise captures the entire essence of this place much more than a photo would, so I consider it more "true" than a photograph.

This one's just for fun!

This one got called digital art...

Don't know how it stacks up though... it was my first real submission here. I worked really hard on it and learned a ton. First time shooting a set up shot with planned lighting...

I might be able to do it better now... I'm a bit shy on the short end of things for glass right now for the 30D, but I think I could possibly improve it with the S2... Doubt that I'd have the patience to muck about with the damned scorpion again though...

this thread has slowed down... I've been in an "digital/abstract" mood lately so here's some from today

HAha! Sweet!

I did one awhile back but it creeped me out a bit...

...so I recently countered with something from the other side:

I am obviously struggling with some "issues" LOL

Several of you asked me for details on how I did this, but since I had a similar one in a challenge I didn't want to comment until it was over.

That one started out as this

I applied an effects filter in Paint Shop Pro called Sandstone. The settings are approx: Blur 60, Detail 155, Luminance 10, Angle 217 and color is a light cream.

A few others done with this technique but different settings

These are fun but not legal for challenges cuz I got DQ'd :)
