Today's the big day! My shot of PNC Park from the "Where You Live" challenge is in the July 3 edition of Sports Illustrated, in an ad for Chevy!

It's actually used twice in the ad. The ad folds out into three pages. My shot is used on the first page as a background image nearly the entire size of the page (page 55), and then again on the second page of the ad, about 1/4 of the page.

The shot will also be used in USA Today on July 11 as part of a full-page ad, it'll be in the All-Star Game program, and will be used in upcoming Chevy TV commercials on FOX and ESPN.

And... of course, if it wasn't for DPC, I likely never would have taken that shot in the first place!

I know I shouldn't ask--- But you started the thread awhile ago asking how much to charge--

Sooo---- What did you get paid Alan???

Very cool, Alan! Congrats! I see I gave it a 10 and it's in my favorites.....so...did you have a cheese steak?

Well, let's just say that I offered a price, and they counter-offered with MORE than I was asking, so clearly I was shooting low to begin with. Then they tacked on a couple hundred more because they had an additional use for it... THEN when they added the TV usage to it, they more than doubled what they had initially sent!

So let's just say it has been a very lucrative picture :) Just got the first check today, according to my wife!

I'll be going for my "Official Cheesesteak" tomorrow! I had a pretty good one in Asbury Park, NJ, this evening, though... but I will be sure to get an authentic one tomorrow.

TG someone is getting paid fairly for images in the world where so many potential buyers are using "contests" to get free useage licenses!! Yay for the good news!!

Congrats to Alan for the successful image!

Believe it or not, they just found it on my web site! If you Google "PNC Park" (searching images), my shot comes up very high... I assume that's how they found it.

Great image. It was one of my top three picks for that challenge.
