 Bummer for the portrait crowd... I'd not thought of that when I was looking through the images earlier, but that's what it says.. To quote the whole bit for folks not interested in looking themselves..

 <---- Challenge rules quote ----->
 Details:
 It's been suggested so many times, we're going to give it a whirl. Your challenge is to give us your best image STRAIGHT FROM THE CAMERA. The original MUST be a jpg; you may not use RAW for this challenge. Absolutely NO post-processing is allowed except resizing and compression for the web.

 That's right; no cropping, no rotating, no image adjustments, no sharpening, no cloning, no borders, no nothing. Have fun!

 Extra Rules:
 Your original must be a JPG -- RAW images are not allowed for this challenge. Absolutely no post-processing is allowed except for resizing.
 <---- End portrait mode ruining quote ---->

 Lucky thing is I almost fell into the same trap, as I had two shots to pick from after wading through my weekends photos.. One portrait and the one I submitted. Close call. :-). |

 err. you can rotate pics in camera. see Thread. The rules clearly state the image to be submitted must not be edited post camera. in camera edits are allowed. hope you havent been voting poorly becuase people shot portraits. :( |

 If you manage to pull another one similar to your "Phototropism" shot, I'm sure it's quite a photo (and still, my camera is better than yours) :p |

 LOL!!!! Thanks, I feel it's a nice shot, my flower entry is going down so I have my hopes in this one. And concerning your camera, no doubt about it!! It already has a ribbon to prove it!! ;-)

		Interesting... my flower and my straight entries are within 3 votes of each other (94 vs 91). And within one comment (6 vs 5). And within .015 of each other (about 6.220 to 6.235).

 Hovering in the 5.5-5.8 area. I can live with that. I like this no PP challenge. My PP skills are horrible, but getting a little bit better.

 Expecially since I had been doing photography for myself and came home to read my email and see that a challenge had started. Only had time to go through the new pictures and submit, not time to take new shots (the two I thought would be great I had extra space in for later cropping - because I often leave extra space around the subject because with the camera resolution I can always crop but adding requires reshooting.) If I had read the email earlier I could have watched that. :-) I wonder if we can have a cropping only challenge next :-) |

 Make sure your subject fits in 640 x ???. That would be the main challenge. ;o)

 Yeah...I had another shot I would have liked to enter IF I could have cropped it. Such is life.

 He, he, funny you should say that. I took my "Straight" entry and post-processed it earlier today, and now I'm thinking, what in the world was I thinking for posting such a stupid image to a challenge. It just doesn't work. Funny how post-processing can change your mind about something. |
