at least they are starting to have some action (as in revelations and plot development) in the more recent episodes... hopefully this will continue. |

we're ignoring an important question, though... why did this girl's plane/helicopter (we never really saw it...) crash? did the others shoot it down? did whatever's hiding the island from the rest of the world cause it to stall?
another interesting question: how many people, the first time you saw charlie get shot, thought "dang! they're actually gonna kill him off?!"

I think it is the former girlfriend, the one he apparently left at the alter. I think because he saved Charlie, he changed the course and a 'different' person was there. Went from who HE wanted to who wanted HIM.
Also, did you notice that the photo on the monks desk contained the 'woman that told Desmond that he couldn't change the course!"

I don't think it was the woman he left at the alter. It didn't look like her at all.
I notice that they paused briefly so that the photo on the monks desk would be noticed but I didn't catch who was in the picture. Very interesting. Now I'll have to get hit the website and view that part again.

yeah. i figured the photo was important, but didn't catch it in time to see who it was. makes sense if it was her.
and no. the girl they found can't be the one he left. they looked nothing alike...

Did anyone catch the photo that was on the monks desk?!? It had the monk and the lady from the ring shop that told Desmond that he couldn't have the ring. I want to believe now that they are Darma. I might be going out on a limb here but O-well. Darma has the ability to go back in time like Desmond did...why are they doing this? So they can save the world. That's what she told Desmond. They have been back in time and have the visions Desmond has but they might be able to see more or can control it better than him. You heard Desmond say that he woke up in the street not know how he got there and this monk was there to offer his hand. The monk knew that if he did that Desmond would follow him and leave that other woman. Desmond was set up to meet Penny so that he would ultimately lover her and want to prove himself to her father by doing the race and getting caught on the island. Darma is still in control...they know what will happen, and are trying to stop it. They know how people will react to certain things. Knew Desmond would follow the monk. Who know who else has been coxed into making a decision the led to them getting on that plane. They know all of this...and I believe some how at the end Penny will will play a big part for the end of this show...they were meant to love each other so she would go after him, no matter what. My opinion though.

Edit - I'm calling it right now. The world as we know it will end...WW III, a comet hitting the earth. They were put here on this island to ensure the human species. Juliet will finally figure out the reason why the pregnant women die. They will save the world by not being in the world when the end comes.

| The chick from the helicopter is 'Naomi'. She too is apparantly Portuguese, just like the two guys in the igloo (or whatever the heck they were in) at the end of season 2. She had a Portuguese copy of 'Catch-22' (the title of the episode). A very fitting title as Desmond had to change his vision to save Charlie, but doing so made it so that it wasn't Penny that was coming to the island. |

yea, Penny doesn't seem much like a paratrooper to me, I think she'd just hire someone.
Food for thought though - the Other's know EVERYONE's background inside and out so I assume they'd know Desmonds. I could easily see this girl being a spy to help / relieve Juliet, it has been about a week after all. Seems like just the kind of Lost "twist" they'd throw at us.

| Just read what I wrote about the Monk and you'll see Penny and Desmond were pretty much made to see one another. Their love is real but it is all because of the Monk and whatever group he works for along with the Ring Lady...maybe Dharma? |

Desmond was in the hatch for 3 years with Calvert and the others were able to "observe" from the Pearl that entire time. As thoroughly as they check everyone else out I have a hard time believing they don't know all about him by now.
The ring lady was the one who told Desmond not to propose to Penny and Penny's father hates Desmond so ring lady could work for him. It has been suggested that he is the founder of Dharma. |

Alright alot to go over. Jin is the dad, Sun has a high chance of
dying in two months, Patch is still alive, we have confirmation that
wounds heal faster on the island, how many languages does that girl
know and why wasn't she talking English from the beginning, she did
not thank Patch...she said "something" else, and that the plane crash
has been covered up so to keep people from looking for the survivors.
Glad Jin is the dad and hope they can make Sun the first woman they save.
I think the fence really did hurt him and made him pass out, but the
island healed him.
We knew the island healed certain people already...but I don't believe
we thought that regular cuts healed faster...at least I didn't. All
wounds will be alright unless fatal and don't have sex unless you want
a child...sorry Kate...you're are going to be a mommy.
I don't know why Naomi, I think is her name, didn't speak English
right off the bat. I don't buy that she said thank you to Patch...I'm
thinking they are connected somehow. I also think it was a bad idea to
let him go...but like Desmond said they had their hands tied.
They covered up the plane crash!?!? Dharma? The Others? That is bazaar
and yet another big twist on the story.
I LOVE IT!!

mr foolery... i agree that their hands were tied, but why didn't desmond ask in return that if he is released that patch isn't to harm any of the survivors? yes, his side of the bargain was saving naomi, but i think they could have also thrown in a rider-amendment for their own safety.
i wonder if the dates on sun's baby put conception prior to the island, but juliet was lying to her (and ben). |

| I believe Juliet was telling the truth...Sun got pregnant an the island and it's Jin's baby. That makes for more suspense know there is a very good chance she will die. And about making Patch promise not to hurt them would just be a lie...you can't believe anything the Others say. You know Desmond is a man of his word now. They will be back for that phone though. |
