Did I miss "why" Kate and Juliet were separated from the rest and laid out into the jungle vs. just left behind like Jack and Sayid? That didn't make any sense to me. And what about Juliet? Is she left behind to just keep a watch out? She had the key to the cuffs after all and never used it.

| i think juliet got left behind because she killed that dude or showed other elements of not being a team player. juliet cuffed herself to kate because she hoped the experience would allow her to bond with kate and be able to join their group. big question is whether juliet was left behind, or if she's trying to infiltrate their group |

Ok...I think the Others put Kate and Julie out there to draw
the black smoke out. You can think of it like a sacrifice, or what
happened in King Kong. I think the smoke is guarding
something...another hatch? Maybe that's where the Others went but
couldn't get past the smoke and had to give it something to
follow...or worse. Good thing Julie was there with the key code to the
fence. That might have been the end of Kate.

You know why they just showed up right? Desmond went back in time...but this time did a few things slightly different. Have you seen Rose and her Husband lately?? I think Rose never got on the plane and Nikki and Palo took their place. When you change anything in the past it will have a ripple effect that you can never predict.
That's also why Sawyer has no idea who they are. |
Interesting idea. I was listening to the podcast the other day and they explained this. Being minor characters they can't have the actors of Rose and her husband around all the time to just stand in the background. They said that if they are going to have the two of them on the show, it will be for a central part. They also said that we will see them very soon.
Nikki and Palo were minor characters that they wanted to introduce and then grow into bigger characters. I guess that the whole episode was supposed to be a Expose episode and we wouldn't really find out till the end that it was a t.v. show starring Nikki. But they spent so much time on the Others this season, that when it came time to do this episode, they had to speed things up a little in the interest of time. |

Yeah!!! I'm glad they are finally getting around to making LOST good again. The first few episodes sucked really bad. I think the show is getting back to its roots of goodness.
I really hope LOST ends this season, I can't stand waiting a whole week for the next episode. Either that, or release a whole season on DVD at once.

I hear it was renewed for another season. The producer wants to run all the episodes next year with no breaks in between, starting right after the first of the year. a longer wait, but then no interruptions. sounds good.
So why are they on the island? We have a slight clue as to what they were doing, but why here and not some other 'regular' island? What's the Dharma Initiative and are they connected to it? The logo on their shirts seems to be the same as Dharma.
I think they crashed what, 2 or 3 months back? Then it was a while before clare gave birth (a week? 3? i have no idea). So that makes the baby 1 to 2 months old...and it can move it's head and grasp and it's looks are more like a 5 month old baby. Is this the Island's magic powers?
I have no clue what Juliette is up to....but what about John? The 'others' have been very careful (except for jack) to keep the survivors locked up and confused. Now John blows up their sub and is allowed to stay, free....

as  krafty1 rightly pointed out, sun is pregnant. i think juliet is there to figure out who else is or might be pregnant, so they can snatch her for more testing. intersting that juliet was brought there because no woman can have a baby on the island... very odd.

they're either really part of dharma, or those are left over shirts... i'm guessing ben is the child of the guy who started dharma...

they've been there something like 3 months now, i believe. but i think the baby's older appearance can be attributied to the inability to use any younger of a baby in such working conditions. it's a practical matter both for ease of filming and for the health of the baby...

i've spoken to juliet, but for john, i think he's just so interested in finding out the truth about the island, he's willing to do what ever it takes. he knows, and probably knew, that ben really wanted him to blow up the sub, and did it with a smile. now that they've showed him they have his dad, he's probably after a little revenge, too...
what'd they say? 5 more shows this season? can you say "yeehaw!?"

If they know that Sawyer killed a man before he left Australia (which he was never found guily of) and the amount of people Sayid tortured, I'd say the others do know about Claire and Jack. |

Lastnight was a decent episode but I knew something was coming this damn show it was not gonna be that nice and explain alot to you and then just go off I knew right at then end there was gonna be a big WTF moment....
Was it just me or right at the end of the show was that a gas mask or something he handed her and said he would see her in a week....
BTW sorry just a little tired of the show now luckly nothing is on at the sametime that I watch this

A few episodes ago, in Claire's flashback, it was revealed that Jack's father is her father. She told Chritian flatout that she didn't want to know his name, so Claire has no idea, and of course, Jack doesn't either. |

Claire was revealed to be Jack's half sister in Claire's last backstory episode (though neither Jack or Claire realize it at this point).
Yes, Ben handed Juliet a gas mask at the end of the episode - because Juliet was never gassed.
Because Juliet is a spy or whatever though the entire episode is suspect - it all could have been BS to make us think that's the truth and then the end hits... NOT!

My thinking from the get go was that was their whole point. Like when Ben said to Kate, "it's interesting you chose Sawyer over Jack" when she was having breakfast on the beach with him. That was how he picked who to stick her with. |
