Wow! I have to say that this was one of the most exciting challenges I've entered in a while. Just returned from a friend's wedding and was thrilled to see that I broke (barely) into the 6+ range again :) It was such a roller coaster ride seeing my score stabilize at the mid-6s and drop like 10 Slippy's on a slide a few days before the challenge ended :)
Anyway, some comments revealed that some were a bit let down by the overuse of "glow". Actually it's the midnight sepia filter and nothing else. Now I'm curious if this affected some people's scoring. It's always hard to know when to effectively use these filters and I thouhgt for this challenge, the slight aura of softness and glow added to the "conspired" feel of the image. I haven't really used the mignight sepia filter in any of the challenges. The white rooom was to indicate "sterile" environments instead of the dark room that most conspiracies seem to show. Just a bit of a twist in my part :)
In retrospect, I would have probably cloned out the plant that seems to be growing out of my friend's head :)
Any feedback would be great! Did I make the right choice of not submitting the original? Anyway, my goal of 5 comments from SC failed :( However, I did get Langdon's "brilliant" comment :) LOL!
Here are the images again.

Where was I? I must not have been invited to that meeting. It's a conspiracy I tell ya. |

As I stated in your comments during the challenge I really liked the concept but wasn't a fan of the blur. I think your outake is better. |

Hmm, I'll tell you rikki, the filter effect doesn't really seem like it belongs for the subject. I'm not sure that affected my voting, but now that I look at it I'm not sure the outtake isn't better.
I would have changed the color cast on the outtake however. I do like the whiteness of the walls in the original better.
However, you really seemed to nail that "voter without a camera" constituency... |

Yeah. I think the Double Rainbow down the street from GeneralE's house was packed to the brim with SCs. :D |

It's interesting to see that I got a 10 from voters without cameras but as I look at the commentors, all of them do have cameras. Hmmm.... Anyway, I prefer the submitted image than the original. I definitely would have adjusted the WB on the outtake prior to submitting it but the slight blur makes it a bit more ... what's the word? Heavenly? Hehehehe!

I like the outtake better, but I really think it would have been better in a darker room, or with some element to give it a dark feeling. I just don't think of conspiracy in bright surroundings. |

I like the original, I think the glow/blur adds to the conspiracy feeling on that whole "beam me up in a white light from a spaceship" feeling. I definatley like the entry better than the original without any processing.
If you feel like it, why not make the adjustments to the orignal that you're talking about (white balance, etc.) and let us compare that to the entry? |

I'm with you on this one Rikki, I like the original better. The effect makes me want to "look" at the picture. The outtake looks too much like something I see everyday in the office, almost like the meeting I am in now. In fact....hey Debbie, about that report you sent yesterday........ |

I'll make the revisions to the update and I'll post 'em. |

The only problem iwth that is that you are assumng the SC actually has time ot vote and comment. :)
Just kidding. Your was one I was really wanting to leave a comment on (and have since, sortof), but I ran out of time voting before it "came up." |

Doh! I actually think that SC most likely messes with the votes rather than vote :P
Hey I still invite better yet I challenge all SCs to leave me a message even after the challenge has ended :D
Hehehehe :) |

Yea, and we gotta figure out what we're doing wrong. I seem unable to get above the low 5's recently.

I like the submitted version better - the effect adds drama. Gave it a 7. |

Unbeknownst to most SCs in the US, there is a new crop of SCs being formed in Iceland. Heida is leading the rebellion. |
