I was in Hermosa Beach this past weekend and took a bunch of shots of some volleyball players.

Just got back from a cycling race. Downloading the pictures right now. I found that the sports mode focus on the rebel just sucks :-(

Yes, jousting is a sport. Where did you take that shot? It's a good one. And because of the way the splinters are flying in the air, I'd like to know what exposure settings you used? And what camera and lens?

Very nice shots kyebosh. I especially like 9428 where the rider has his tongue sticking out. The way you have stopped the action (the bicycle's spokes) makes me wanna know your exposures settings too. They say that 80-200 isn't as fast to focus as you need for sports action shooting. What do you think of it's focusing speed?

Thanks Cool. Yes that Is Jacki Symes III (spelling?) his grandfather is in the cycling hall of fame ( and is a really nice guy ). I was just using the camera in Sports Mode, which I really really hate now. The expos were all over 1/1000. The 80-200L focuses faster than my camera can in sports mode.
