I was standing on the opposite side of the road trying to photograph some
bicyclists when this girl appeared out of nowhere at a really unbelievable speed and in this pretty awesome stance. I snapped three quick shots of her in a continous mode and was really lucky that one of them came out pretty good. I was really UN-lucky that this happend a week BEFORE the Extreme action challenge was announced :(

In post-processing slightly rotated the horizon :), cropped, sharpened, increased saturation, and saved.

This photo was a Kodak POTD on June 15, 2005

Excellent shot - and very sad that you've had to explain in the title, but I understand why. I think the motion blur filter should be banned from this site.

I do find her stance quite ungainly though - therefore a it unaesthetic. Well composed.

All that protective gear and no helmet doesn't make too much sense ... : (

ok, since dpc doesn't have subtitles, i'll forgive you for doing the next best thing. even so, i don't think it was necessary. this is a free study, and you're being judged on the image, not how you got to the image. the image itself is pretty good work. nice colors, great motion. love the bottle! very, very strong composition. i really hope this does well. good luck!

great action shot! I really like the use of a slow shutter and panning. One of my favorites in the challenge!

That is awesome, would have scored well in the past challenge about action shots. So what was she clocked at or more like how fast were you going along side ;-) I like it and natural blur gets extra marks!

Great catch! Only thing I would say is that - and this is just one of my pet peeves - explanations in the title are a real detractor to the shot. No points off ofr it - I'll let you go with a warning this time. ;-)

Wow - if you panned that shot you've got some steady hands! Cool composition, and definitely a great use of motin blur effect.

Excellent job of panning. She is in perfect focus and the blurring of the background really give the feeling of speed. 8

Wow, this one really jumps at you. The motion elements are very effective. The motion blur and the downhill tilt. Nice.

Fantastic motion blur! Keeping the detail of the skater sharp. Like the colors. Great shot.
