yes, but they use bright colors, tranquel feelings and impressionistic brush strokes

well I have to thank you all for first reviewing and commenting my entry so far..
I'm new to dpchallenge (not new in dp though) and an amateur, maybe middle-level photographer.

as most here admitted a lot of pictures were didn't capture the theme..
surealism for me is (in paintings or in photo) the presentetion of something not real as real. A twisted reality. That is why dreams are in surealism's definition. In dreams "we" can do anything we want. Alter reality. Rules of the "real" do not aply there.

anyway I'm pretty curious to see who made some of the top entries that I loved so much.

Way to go Nikant! Possible ribbon on your first try? That doesn't happen very often.

This is a tuff one for me - I went through all the postings and voted - but I feel like Simon Cowell - and it's kinda bugging me. My shot does not deserve to win but after taking more than 100 shots I finally got 1 to work - I was so focused on getting the shot I neglected way tooo much of the basic simple stuff.

I know I am going to take the time and re-adjust my votes and try to be more positive - Mind you there were a handful of shots that blew me away - and they will be in the top 10

I've got a good vote-to-view ratio, showing that people are interested enough in the thumbnail to give it a click...too bad once they see the full version they reach for the lower half of the scale. Oh well...the number of comments so far is nice. I hope to get more...I prefer comments to votes, any day.

Still no validation request...hopefully I won't get one since I won't be home for the rest of the week, so I won't be near my source file. That would be bad.

from watching this thread, i have a pretty good comment count. I'm excited im doing so well on this one, as it is my 2nd entry... my first wasnt so good :( oh well

It's a really fun challenge with many good entries. My favourite appears to have gone missing though. It was titled something like "The chairmen of the bored". What happened?

How do you know that it is no longer available for voting? Maybe he just can't find it. Discussion about specific entries should be held until voting is over. Don't get sloppy about maintaining the anonymity of the challenge, it's too important.

A lot of these shots are more like what I would call Abstract than Surrealist. They could fly high in an Abstract challenge.

I did look for the image before posting and I couldn't find it either, which makes three of us, but you're right- better safe than sorry.

i think my highest was around 6.17... it has been slowly but surely dropping:( oh well, i'll be happy as long it stays at above 6
