Glad to hear the alphabet projects are still, ahem, "flying"...

Hi John. Can't wait to get the full size version.
So. How's the poem project coming along? I haven't seen any posts on that since Feburary, I think. Are you guys putting it together as a book? |

It's dead as far as I know. I don't feel motivated to motivate the volunteers :)

Hey jmsetzler,
What ever happened to the 50 state flag project you started awhile back. I think you had people taking photos from each state and the last I noticed you were somewhere in the 40 plus images of flags. Then nothing. Can you update us on this flag project? |

Sorry to hear that. It sounded like such a grand project. Maybe a newsletter to all the participants would get it going again. Maybe get a volunteer to coordinate things for everyone and send exciting news and updates to keep the interest high.
About the book idea. Would one be able to take an old poem like that and use it in a book without worrying about copyrights? |

I had dropouts from various states that were difficult to get in the first place. I haven't decided if I want to finish the project or not. I have learned from these projects that it's difficult to depend on volunteers and it's very time consuming on my part to chase people down and round up new volunteers. The 50 state flag project is definitly a huge undertaking. I will think about it some in the next few days and see what I can come up with.

I only got a little red x on the Alphabet Soup final picture. Anyone else? The picture alphabet one was ok.
It feels weird to have access to all those signatures. I think it would be better to have them on a master site with permissions given to get to them instead of having them posted on an open site or individually downloaded by everyone. Sorta like a stock site where someone can get them on a "as needed" basis. Maybe I'm the only person concerned with this? |

I successfully downloaded the PDF file and 1 of the 2 images that John posted on his website. Is anyone else having difficulty getting the AlphabetSoup-Final.jpg file?
Edit: I emailed John about this. And, pcody, I'd say that the url names with the images are sufficiently obscure to mitigate any risk.

You should try executing a project where multiple people are involved sometime and you will see why I'm probably not interested in pushing the two that have already basically died.
