Hi all, Im new to this site i only join a few challenges and the 3rd one i joined, i got disqualified . if any one can tell me y this picture got disqualified i would appreciate it .. this way i wont make the same mistake again.. Thank u very much ...

Wasn't the reason explained in the email saying it was disqualified?

Looks like you've done a lot more editing than is allowed even under the advanced rules (here)

Specifically, take a look at the image modification section.

Read the email you received carefully, it will contain the reason you were disqualified.

Part of the reason the photo was disqualified was because it was not taken within the proper timeframe for the challenge. If it was, check the date stamp on your camera because it may be incorrect.

I also suspect that the editing would not fall within the advanced ruleset but you did not provide us with your editing steps when you uploaded proof.

I Just red my E-mail didnt know they sent me one .. had no clue it had to be done within dates ,, guess i should read the whole site before i go on submitting pictures

Do be sure to check the date on your camera... it might save you some future heartache...

That would be a good idea. Especially if you're going to check off the box that says you've read the rules when you submit your photo. :)

All i did was crop down to eyes and added a border and resized .

Don't be too disappointed. Go through the rules and try to understand what is allowed and what's not. When in doubt, you could always ask and there will always be a lot of people here at any given time to help you out. Cheer up and pick up the camera :)

Actually I do enjoy your image but it is more digital art then photography so it would likely not be allowed due to illegal editing as well. But don't let that discourage you, just read and follow the rules carefully and you should do fine. It can seem a little confusing at first but I'm sure you will get the hang of it and enjoy this site. BTW, welcome to the site, you have officially been initiated :)

You could have achieved a similar effect within the rules using a piece of window glass and some flat white paint.

Also try the forum search for any questions you may have. Most likely it has been asked before in a previous thread.

And submitted a photo that was taken outside the time limit... the idea of taking a photo during a specified time period is really the main thrust behind the site :)

How DID you do the border on the "tear" around the eyes?? I have tried to achieve this effect, but have not has great luck with it.

It is a shame you got disqualified, as it is a really lovely shot.

I don't understand though how you could not realise about submission dates, as you specifically have to tick the date when you enter the photo stating that it was taken between date A and B.

Look forward to seeing more of your work in future challenges though :)
