Since some of us are unable to participate in DPL I would like to run this side challenge which allows to share images meeting DPL challenges topics. These images have no restrictions on dates, no EXIF required, any kind of image is welcome.
I will start posting after the first DPL challenge is announced and comment on any images posted by whoever wants to join me. Have fun! :) |

Margaret, while I enjoy your enthusiasm for this, we'll ask that you please limit images and conversations that are NOT related to challenges currently near the voting stage, and/or actively in the voting stage. These would be considered 'Outtakes' and are not allowed according to forum rules, specifically forum rule #2.

OK, photos taken while the challenge is in submission stage are not allowed to be posted in this Side Challenge, please post them to the actual challenge! This is not a competition to what can be posted in the real DPL challenge.
And thank you,  glad2badad for recognizing my enthusiasm and need for participation. |

I don't know about this... It sounds great at first, but I'm thinking it will be like a "free ideas" area for people who are entering in DPL to get their ideas for their entries.
Or... it might affect voting if an entry is similar to one in the side challenge. If that happened by accident and the entry was voted lower because it's similar to the side challenge's entry, it would be very sad.
What if you do it a week behind? Same topics but run it after voting in DPL is finished?

I think  Lydia has a point. We are not allowed a thread to discuss topics during submission and voting, nor should we allow a side challenge with photos that basically "show" topic examples.
Once the results of a given challenge have been posted, all is good to proceed.
And for sure, everyone can enter all league challenges during the timeframe whether they are signed up for DPL or not. Please do! |

Can I point out that you do not have to be on a DPL team to enter challenges which will count toward DPL scoring -- the challenges are available to everyone as usual. |

Paul, these images have no EXIF, they were taken in 3D environments. I am hoping to enter DPL challenge Composite with valid images if I can get out. |

Margaret, open a Side challenge if you feel so, specifically for you are interest on - 3D etc etc
It is not fair though to post same challenge topic using different processing.
You can participate in any challenges DPL or not as required |
