Our dearest friend Robert Bear_Music- The Bear himself - is ready to take a well-deserved step back from his admin duties. Robert has been an incredible support and leader for the DPChallenge community, and we are forever grateful for his dedication and contribution! He leaves behind some massive paw prints to follow!

In response and support of the DPC community, MarkWiley has agreed to step up a notch to take on Admin duties shared by glad2badad and Manic.

Thank you Mark!

This leaves some shoes to fill in the SC ranks, and thankfully, Mary MaryO, Debbi Barroness, and Lynn PennyStreet agreed to contribute and are eagerly awaiting to learn the mysterious backroom secrets of the DPChallenge Site Council.

Thank you Mary, Debbi and Lynn! (your new avatars are in the works).

Robert promised to continue play. We will celebrate this in an upcoming "In the style of Bear_Music" challenge (we've had a few Bear-inspired challenges in the past, but not quite "In the Style Of" type of a challenge).

Robert,
Thank you for all the years of guidance you have given selflessly to the DPC community. Your opinions and oversight have been instrumental in the success of DPC. Your contributions and support will be greatly missed. I look forward to the continuing enjoyment of your entries in the challenges. If there was a DPC headquarters your statue would be in the entry foyer!!

Thanks also to Mark, Mary, Debbi, Penny, Mark, Manic and Barry for stepping up to fill Bear's shoes!

this is the end of an era for sure ..

thankyou so much Robert for all the time you have put into this site ..
i'm sure TIME is the least of it ..

i think there will always be a part of you in this site ..

the number of times i've asked site council for advice on one of my pics and the number of times you have responded so quickly .. and with your own brand of humour ..
it has always been a pleasure ..

i'll look forward to seeing you taking part in the challenges ..

all the best from me .. :)

and of course .. thankyou so much Mark, Mary, Debbi and Penny .. who are stepping up to fill those huge shoes of Robert's .. and i'm not talking about the size of his feet .. lol .. ;)

Thanks a lot Robt!

Thank you all the others for stepping in. DPC is still an oasis for me and won't be possible without the SC and admins. Cheers and hugs!

That's a big one! Mark, you have very big shoes to fill!

While we have had disagreements with Bear over the years, I have a lot of respect for him. His contributions were usually well thought out and wise, he is a great moderator and, to be honest, I cannot imagine DPC without him.

Have a nice retirement, Bear!

OH golly!

Whatever will we do without RoBEARt?

whatever will RoBEARt do with all of his extra time now?

:D

Thanks bunches for all of the stuff you've done for me over these many years of your selfless service to us, Bear. I do hope you'll still play.

Welcome to leadership, ladies!

Thanks Robt for helping to keep this little corner of the internet going for the last many years. I hope things are well with you and life is treating you kindly, and I hope to see many more entries from you going forward.

Welcome to the new crew taking on leadership roles including Mark, Mary, Debbi, and Lynn. I look forward to participating more as my time to carry the camera around has increased recently.

What an amazing job you've done through all these years, Robert. Thank you - can't say it as eloquently as many others have already, but do know it's just as heartfelt.

And welcome to Mark and the other new members of the team - Debbi, Lynn, Mary. Great choices and we appreciate your agreeing to step up and in.

At the same time, I wish Mark all the best as the new administrator. I am sure you will handle the challenges with great skill.

Good luck to the new SC members, Mary, Debbi, and Penny – I wish you wise decisions, strong teamwork, and much joy in your new roles.

Just so we're all clear on this, I've never been "the" administrator but "an" administrator. We currently have Manic, Barry, and Mark as administrators, of which Mark is the newest :-)

On the Big Bear issue, Robert you were never a little cub, you were Bear Music and to continue on the Flaubert line, you made here "music that will melt the stars" - words and pictures also.
Personally I will miss you much.

I salute and admire all SC, new and old. You continue to keep the torch burning.

I keep seeing this, and not responding, because I hate change! :P

Silly 'ol bear! Everyone knows you ARE DPC. The voice of reason, the heart and soul. When I think DPC, I think Bear. Thanks for everything, and you'd better still stay around! We love you!

To all the others -- good luck filling those shoes! Thanks for keeping us going.

With great appreciation to Bear and to Mark and all who have stepped up, and all who have stayed the course, that we remaining may dally in various competencies/enjoyment.
