That didn't work for me either. I tried to open it and got a message 'Could not complete your request because it is not the right type of document.'

I would hope so! SC please confirm.

Absolutely.

Doesn't mind question marks, but if you copy/paste from a word processor it's the wrong coding.

You could just remove this post entirely and I'd be happy. Nobody's going to see the humor in it now.

Oh, come on. I think you've changed your tune, but your idea is a great one, and Bernie and his mittens are exactly what we all need right now.

I've tried downloading it several times. My computer saves it and then the file disappears.

This is the message that comes up when I try to open it:

Doesn't make any difference which option I click.

I eventually managed to save it using "snip".

Edit to add: I wasn't even trying to save it in Dropbox. I'm confused.

Great - thanks.

If this has already been addressed, forgive me (I didn't see anyone talking about it in the thread): The photo provided doesn't include parts of Bernie's chair. I shall go about adding those parts if I need to from another copy of the photo if that's OK. I don't want to be disqualified for doing so, so thought I should check with the powers that be.

OK to provide the missing parts of Bernie's chair?

Ah... a chair-itable donation!

Much better.

Paul's image has the chair while the one provided with the challenge description has just bits of the chair. Can we remove ALL of the chair?

Should be OK -- the theme is "where's Bernie?" not the chair.

Also, everyone should remember that, other than combining the Bernie image with one of your own, STANDARD Editing rules apply.

Out of interest, is the idea to put Bernie into a scene in a fairly large size or to hide him in the scene like the where is Wallie images?

I assume any size is OK as long as it is funny ;)

maybe I'm dumb, but I am still confused: can we use the "full" Bernie cutout provided by P-A-U-L (or make our own cutouts from the same publicly available photo), or we still have to use the sloppy cutout in the challenge description?

I used a higher resolution image that I downloaded from the internet. It looked a lot better in my composition. I̢۪ll let the voters decide.

You can do either of the alternatives you presented, or use the one originally linked. Your choice.

Make it archival and a lot more people can participate. He's run for president twice and there has been
a lot of Bernie paraphernalia stuff around for eight years.

The challenge title and description show this is an archival challenge.

Separate issue: the original post suggested Extended editing, which would make sense for a compositing exercise. Unclear why it ended up Standard Editing. Maybe not too late to change to Expert since a number of comments indicate interest in that direction.

The idea is just to take the specific meme and stick it in a picture somewhere. Extended Editing is too wide open for this. The "usual gang" could be counted on to sweep :-) Everyone has a chance in this one.... That's my take on it anyway...

Thanks for the explanation Bear. My entry follows the standard editing plus Bernie instructions and was fun to do. Looking forward to seeing what all turns up.
