I figured that the score would be all over the place, and I also figured that many wouldn't see it as art. My hopes were for comments. Let's all try commenting on the ones that make a connection. Let's stop the suffering! :) |

| Wow I've never received such a brutal drop since I've been here on DPC, well maybe one or two other times: I will just have to ignore the 6 comments and 1 fave that I have, because the score doesn't compute!!! |

I have always questioned a 1-10 scale to rate anything, in this case art in 2D image form.
A 3 tiered voting system is more accurate and also teaches the uninitiated voter to look for more than just immediate reaction. To afford the artist a genuine look and understanding of his/her work. It also follows a more traditional salon style of voting. Naturally it will take you longer to vote and has other side affects and counter arguments.
1. Composition 1-5
2. Lighting 1-5
3. Subject and Creativity 1-5
and then throw this into the mix:
(4. Personal Appeal 1-5)
Art is different to everyone. An A0 canvas on the wall of an Amoeba swimming in a Petri dish to a picture of horizontal grass/water lines that fetched $4M+
Note most expensive doesn't mean best in your eyes imo.

Oh, my "artwork" was shot with a POV that had in mind; unusual, art, thought provoking, questioning. I used a POV that is getting an unappreciated 4.7
+1 this as a new voting mechanism, it will block all the ''I hate 5'' threads :) Thanks to  Art Roflmao for his creative suggestion here.

Looking at the dates I can see where our retirement money is going. After all the money lost in GFC is in someone's pocket (or rather hanging on their wall). |

| OK, I need four more in-voting comments to equal the number I got last year. My score is just a little under my last year's finish, but I still have hopes of equaling it which was my goal (though I actually like last year's entry more than this year's). Will I make it? |
