Nothing, in-camera: note the location accurately in the image data field, and SC will make the calculation.

+1 Very true. I'll skip this challenge.

Look folks... two empty seats at the front. :O)

There you go, Ray! Take a shot with one of your semi-annual entries. Looking forward to your potential apostasia, be it rebellion or rapture.

You don't have to use Expert -- just create a good composition to start with ...

Where will you be? I was there for about three weeks in (I think) 1991.

General,
our group is going all over (from Golan Heights to Negev, and about 3 days in Jerusalem)
given the sites before turnoever, it'll most likely be an OT-based shot

Well, considering that even the well versed have difficulty in determining the true meaning of the term, it might be best that I refrain from submitting in this challenge, but thank you ever so much for trying to increase my interest in challenges. :O)

in Michigan we have some mountains made of garbage ,and some are reaching Biblical proportions ,around Detroit old dumps are being converted into ski/snowboard hills.

I'm sure you have something like that in Ontario...you know Biblical garbage mound... I think it would be fitting. ;)

Some never miss a chance to bash believers.

Good grief David... have you never heard the term "of biblical proportions"

Check it out, it is in the dictionary ya know.

"Very great in extent; enormous: a natural disaster of near biblical proportions."

For proportions which seem quite immense,
The term "biblical" makes the most sense.
From Goliath's great height
To Leviathan's might,
It's a scale of outlandish extents.

bib·li·cal also Bib·li·cal (bib-li-kul)
adj.
1. Of, relating to, or contained in the Bible.
2. Being in keeping with the nature of the Bible, especially:
a. Suggestive of the personages or times depicted in the Bible.
b. Suggestive of the prose or narrative style of the King James Bible.
3. Very great in extent; enormous: a natural disaster of near biblical proportions.

I don't think that was the meaning the poster had in mind, at least that was not the way I took it. I guess only Basta knows for sure.....Does Ontario have a large garbage mound?

We sure do, it's called Parliament Hill.

Nasty place really, full or hot air, noxious fumes, all kinds of things that will not pass the smell test, and other unpleasant things.

I believe Americans have something akin to this in Washington, DC. :O)

I think Ray is turning out to be a closet Bible guy and is quietly coming out by frequently posting on this thread like a moth hovering around flame. Don't worry Ray, your secret is safe with us! ;)

Quite true... Evangelical Atheists have always needed to cram their non-religion down everyone else's throats.

I find it's best to just humor them... (and of course pray for them :) )

...and of course one must consider that some believers will find offence in the most innocuous of comments... go back and read the comment, you might possibly find another meaning.

I would love to enter this, but I don't think I will, due to the fact that I feel a lot of shots in this challenge will be just mocking the bible, and or also completely incorrectly portrayed.

I won't be mocking the Bible, but expect me to use one of the passages which started this thread or another equally awesome passage.

I don't see how it could be mocking the Bible if I simply do a literal translation of one of the passages. My creationist cousin tells me every passage is the literal word of God and that it should be read literally.

I'm an atheist, but I'll portray a scene without mocking the bible.

IMO there's not Truth in that book, but I have respect for other people's beliefs.

In my mind it is a powerful book and a great inspiration for a challenge.

This is a mocking photo, if you've even read the bible you would know that he was unrecognizable after his scourgings and beatings, look at the photo not one ounce of blood, and he wouldn't of had tatoos as that's mentioned in the bible as well Leviticus 19:28 (King James Version)!

I could go on, but I'm not posting after this, so I'm not ignoring you just not arguing about it!!

Holly religious paranoia in here?

What is wrong with you people?

How many times do you need to be told " BIBLICAL = ENORMOUS"

I'm not a Christian or an atheist but I certainly won't be mocking the bible in any way with my entry. I have a lot of fondness for religions and their stories.

I don't see the mockery in your example here to be honest. It's a modern interpretation is all and , as such, joins the huge body of art from the last 1000 years or more. Those Italian Old Masters with their pasty white images of Jesus were modern interpretations of their time as well.

using for inspiration and mocking are two entirely different animals. just because something doesn't meet a description word for word isn't mocking. mocking is intentional ridicule, i doubt anyone one would do so purposely for this challenge entry.

remember that the bible is an interpretation, its interpreted differently by many different sects of Christianity and even has differently worded versions. heck it was written by man as an interpretation of what they were seeing, or thought they were seeing or heard.

as i said earlier, you get into trouble when you start interpreting it directly. enjoy the stories and their message and use them to guide your life if you choose, but don't take it literally word for word.
