Creation was in SIX literal days, not seven. God rested on the seventh day.
If you believe in God, that's not a problem. If you don't, then I can understand how it would seem silly. I used to wrongly believe in Theistic Evolution -- that God used the big bang, blah blah blah... even wrote a paper in college on it. But after studying the matter, six days is not far fetched and is not contradicted by any actual science.
It's contradicted by theories and man's presumptions and assumptions, but not actual science.
The Creation account has been the same since Moses wrote it down.
Evolutionary theory has changed countless times as the theory gets "corrected" by science.
Given enough time, the theory of evolution would itself "evolve" into the Creation account. |

I'm betting we have 11 racing for the yellow after Gyaban and Samantha take the Blue/Red (not necessarily in that order) |

Oh, oh. No offense intended, but are you one of those "Sarah Palin 6000 years ago" guys? It's okay if you are. I respect your right to believe in whatever you believe. |
No, I am one of those Bible-based, science supported "Earth is about 6000-10000 years old" guys.

LOL - That's hilarious. |
And completely true at the same time. AMAZING! |
Prove it. |

The creation accounts of Native Americans, the Greeks & Romans, Hindus, etc. haven't changed since they where written down either. Can you summarily dismiss their accounts as myths and proclaim Moses' account as the absolute truth? |

I'm pretty sure nobody can say anything about our ultimate origins with the certainty of absolute truth. So why are we holding Hawkeye to that level of accountability? (other than the hubristic manner of his posting)

thats the main logic i use for not practicing Christianity any longer. I just can't fathom that there are 6 billion people on this planet and way less than half have it correct.
i cant say for certainty there inst a god, but i cant believe that believers can wholeheartedly think that their religion is the correct version and everyone else is wrong.
if you think you can prove your religion is right, you are trying too hard to convince yourself.

Doesn't it strike you that way less than half have it correct no matter WHAT the answer is? :)

isn't it feasible that "no one" has it correct? the answer is probably some mix of science and deity
edit: just saw mike's post, pretty much said the same thing

Of course. The Holy Spirit wrote the Word through Moses... He was there and knew what happened. Those other accounts came well after Creation. |

Mine was a complete and utter failure. Now I'm not quite sure what to do, it's not saveable, and there's no second idea.

My shaving cream beard kept defoaming. Ah. Memories. I remember wearing such beards for bible character costume parties in elementary school. :) |
