Interesting. I've never heard it used that way. I think of petering out as something slowly coming to an end... dwindling away to nothing
Edited for grammar |
You must know how I felt! I am very sensitive. I also bring something to DPC, you know. Julliett, HELP!!!!

Sure, but it's the same kind of dynamic.
That's why I said it "reminds me" and not it "is exactly like".

It's like the wayward family member...you still love them, but after a while, you just don't expect much from them in the way of positive change. |

Whats really depressing is that at least 20% of threads at any given time is about, mistakes, the site dying, the those in charge not caring.
Even if you thought that it is a bit of torch wielding at the castle gate, wouldn't some damage control from the top be called for to
at least a small extent? |

Not when stonewalling the masses into submission has always worked so well.
We rail, and bluster... And eventually the storm blows itself out. The frustrated energy is drained, and life goes on. We settle for the status quo, because we fear the alternative. It's a cyclic game of chicken, and we always blink. Nothing happens, because it doesn't need to. We eventually realize that this is where our friends are, and that we really don't want to leave. Problem "solved". |

It is supposed to be a site for learning photography, not a social get together.
PS There is also money charged so there should be some responsibility from the owner to provide Quality of Service.

One does not require the exclusion of the other.
This site is for competing. That some people learn in the process is a plus, but it's not the stated purpose of the site. |

Just discovered this:
"Last updated: August 6, 2003."
On the FAQ page:

Is this the last time any significant changes were made? |
