Does anyone know how he's doing? Denielle hasn't updated the Caringbridge blog since Monday.

Gina, I was a bit worried, too. He wasn't doing so well at her last update. Hoping for an update soon.

Yup -- making me worry, too...

Look's like I'm not the only one frequenting the caring bridge site.

Denielle has now updated the Caringbridge blog. It sounds like things are finally looking up after a few tough days.

It is good to hear of a little progress for this little one.

Hey all!

Things are going well with Dallas. They have delayed Dallas' surgery quite a few times now, and HOPEFULLY they will be grafting on Tuesday. We've been in the hospital for almost a month now, I can't believe it's been so long already. If all goes well on Tuesday, he could POSSIBLY be out by May 16th (the earliest is 8 days after grafting).

Anyways... it's so nice to know there are so many people thinking about Dallas and keeping up with his CaringBridge site. It goes to show just how many people he has touched already. Thank you all for your support, thoughts, and prayers! Dallas will continue fighting, he's definitely not one to give up!

Denielle,
I just read through most of the journal's and my heart goes out to your little man. He is such a trooper. Mac will come around. I think your idea for getting some therapy for Dallas is good and maybe Mac and the other kids could maybe benefit from it as well. I am amazed at how incredibly handsome he is. He was a good looking boy before the accident but, the latest photos of him really show how much healing has taken place and how incredibly good he looks. You have been around him daily and I just got the whole 7 weeks in one night. So to me playing catch up and not seeing him daily it is quite impressive. I don't have any medical background or anything but, he really looks good to me and it looks to me like the scarring will be minimal.

My heart also goes out to you and your husband. The worst I've had to watch my son go through was the normal recovery after a tonsillectomy / adnoidectomy. He was only 4 at the time. It was horrible to watch him go through that. I couldn't even begin to imagine what you are dealing with and for the length of time you are doing it. I don't even want to imagine the multiplication factor I'd have to use to even try to figure it out. (i.e... 100 times worse, 1000 time worse... etc).

I hope everything went well today with the sedation and removing the granulated tissue, staple, feeding tube and all. 24 to 48 hours I hope you are all home and that the transition for that goes well. I will pray for the whole family and that everything stays on track for Dallas to go home to continue his amazing healing.

Okay so I have only been watching for a short time now but it's killing me to know how things are going now. The latest is that they still had to go in for sedation and there hasn't been any updates since. I want to know that everything is going good. I keep checking and I'm sure they are just at home now and busy getting settled into a routine of taking care of Dallas at home now but,....

sigh... okay patience is a virtue right? So I will just keep praying that everything is going well.

I, too, am wondering how things are. It was so good to read the positive journal updates nearly a week ago; my thoughts remain with Denielle, Dallas and the rest of the family.

So I'm not the only following the journal. :)

Hopefully it means that they're home and just too busy being home to update.

Fabulous news!

Yep, great news. Week 7 (warning: optimistic, but gut wrenching)

Still some major stuff for him to go through, but man, he is looking much better. My thoughts and prayers to Dallas and the family for a fast and full recovery. And a "Nerves of Steel" award goes to Denielle - her strength is incredibly inspiring - as is her husband's - and certainly Dallas'. God bless 'em all.

YAY!!! The biggest part of the physical healing is past but, the emotional healing is just beginning of course, and there is still physical healing to take place but, he's home now with such a wonderful family to get him through.

Glad to see that Dallas is back home, hopefully he'll continue to improve in leaps and bounds, I can't believe how much better his face looks already! It's been tough for him but things will be better for him now in the comfort of his own home. :-)
