I appreciate the fabulous photos, Denielle! Thanks for sharing this time with all of us. We're all in love with him, you know.

A new Blogspot has an update for today (May 31st).

"This morning, Dallas looked at himself in the mirror before taking a bath. This was the first true look he got at himself. He screamed and started shaking, saying over and over "I look so scary". it was one of the most heartbreaking moments in my life. But we talked to Dallas for about thirty minutes, and he was alright. He still has many reservations about the way he looks, but we keep telling him how much he's improving. "

Wow.

Thank you all for the words of encouragement and the continued support. Dallas continues to get better day by day... even though we have some tough times, overall he is doing well. I know this isn't the end of the road, by any means... but there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and we walk towards it every day!

Thank you all again. It's wonderful to have such great support.

And I am hoping to get back into the challenges soon!

When I find some spare time. ;)

He's come so far since those early photos and looks fantastic! He looks immensely more comfortable now. It's nice to see him smiling with that little glimmer in his eyes again.

Thanks for the update. Good to hear Dallas continue to improve. Hang in there. It will be good to see you entering some challenges when the time is right.

Just took a moment to go through some of your blog updates. I can't tell you how beautiful your son looks. He is a true hero!

Thank you guys! I can't wait to starting taking "challenge" pictures of my kiddos... and getting back into the groove of things. I have so many different ideas on where I want my direction of life to go now. I plan on making a foundation for children who have been burned, in honor of Dallas. I want to help others, since we have been helped so much. Pay it forward.

It was amazing, everything that has been done for Dallas. And we cannot thank everyone enough for everything done.

Dallas still has an extremly long road ahead of him... but he's getting better, one day at a time.

I'm glad to hear that he's getting better.

Back to the original conversation. Any private matters should be addressed in private or through the proper channels.

I do wish there was a method of stripping off those sorts of tangents and putting them in a different thread. However the points were made, they had some legitimacy, though I fully agree that they were a derailing of the original thread and soured the tone of a beautiful project.

The original version of the "For Dallas" challenge submissions poster has been removed and replaced with this re-edited version.

No copies of the original version were sold. The new image is available at the base price (minimum $1.00) so no one except the printer and their shipper will make any money from this project.

There was an additional concern raised regarding this image.

I believe this promotional use of these images is explicitly allowed under Section 6.2 of the Terms of Service/Registered User Agreeement. Note that while users grant the site a license to use the submitted images in certain ways (including a promotional or commemorative poster), users retain full ownership of and copyright for the images, as is stated at the bottom of every single page on the site.

This includes, but is certainly not limited to email "newsletters."

Please note that Langdon (the site owner) has to personally approve all prints available for sale to the public, thus no further changes are anticipated since he has already approved them. If anyone still feels any print should not be available, please submit the appropriate ticket (under the menu Help > Contact Us > DPCPrints - Administrative Inquiry ) directly to Langdon.

Sorry for the tardiness of this reply, but it took some time to re-edit the big file, and longer to get the replacement print approved.

As far as I know, Dallas has never gotten a copy of the collage print, though I sent him a small print of my own entry myself.

I'm taking care of that... Two posters are being sent, and SHOULD have been there a month or more ago.

Thanks for correcting this. For my part, I apologize for not reading the forum sooner and declining participation back then. I appreciate the extra work this has caused you and hope everyone understand I meant nothing personal to anyone here by my objection.

Thanks again.

Then clearly they don't understand the truth.

Oh, for goodness sake! In the interests of Dallas and Denielle can't this thread be allowed to serve as it was intended, as a place for discussion about an injured little boy and his progress?

Well here is the latest update on Dallas: "Things are getting tougher". He and his mom could really use our prayers.
