Mine is clearly a ten; oddly, the voters think it is a 5. :-)

Mine is running 4.6, I seem to alternate weeks it seems. Well, I struggled with both challenges this week.

		| Never fear...my 10s should bring everyone up soon. I switched to travel just to be sure I wasn't crazy ans sure enough, it's just the portraits that are 10s. |

I gave one 10 out, two 9's, one 8, and everyting else 5-7's... with one 2 and one 1.

I knew I'd run into some photos where I'd have to really stretch my definition of 'portrait'... some I just couldn't do it. This was not that hard of a challenge to meet.

I had expected more environmental portraits. Not that that will result in a lower vote or anything, I just like pictures that tell more about a person.

Hurry up, give me my 10 because it looks like I'm going to slip under 5 (oh s%$#, what if she already gave me my ten). :) Better luck next week I guess.

Well, once again, of the two photos that I was considering I think I chose the wrong one and I think I know why. It is the x factor, which in the case of my photo it is the fact that the subject is my neice. That factor, unfortunately, only appeals to me and my family and I let it influence me into submitting it. I love the photo and I fully intend to frame it and hang it on my wall but it is clearly a photo that doesn't appeal to most people here. I still need to learn to detach myself emotionally from my photos so I can try to see them the way others will. Now that the holidays are nearly over I can refocus my attention on taking better quality photos. Watch out, I got a great one in mind for the speed challenge : ) I just hope the weather cooperates.

My portrait submission is averaging a 4/5-ish so far.

I honestly expected lower, as I'm an intermediate beginner.

Oh, by the way -- hello everyone *waves* I'm new here.
