I guess I took this one a few years too early...

There's more to his style than just veils. I hope folks remember that while voting.

I'm in - this is going to be fun. I love "in the style of" challenges!

Glad to hear that librodo Himself will be commenting. :o)

I might try this one out too. If nothing else I'll probably learn a whole bunch about editing! I'll also have to look through 16 pages of entries and 17 of portfolio to find something I can try to immitate! :)

Yes yes, check out the link to his site that I posted earlier. Shows a variety of elements that contribute to his style: //www.pbase.com/manny_librodo/librodized

Going to shoot for this today. I am personally going to try to NOT enter a picture of a veil (though i am bringing them along just in case) because of voter fatigue :-)

Fist I saw Joey Lawrence's work before Librodo's work. I am not sure, but these two have close styles.

Managed to scramble up some peeps to help me out. Going to shoot this aft, hopefully I will accomplish something worth entering.

I didn't think I would have an opportunity to do this and it was eating away at me. So I will cross my fingers.

I don't think so, not in DPC anyway. Joey was grungy and edgy, Manny's more smooth and romantic.

I think its just an easy way to tell ourselves it looks like his, even though it probablly won't. I had a good look through his portfolio and he is very well rounded, lots of things to chose from.

That said, I still went for a veil look, I'm not confident enough with my photography to do otherwise.

Me too. I've been staring at my photo for so long now, and spent so much time editing (about 8 hours, since I was learning as I was going along), so I can't look at the photo objectively. I can't tell if it's interesting, or pleasing to the eye, or if looks over processed....gah. I'm really curious to get other photographers' take on it.

I've changed my entry - much happier now. Like others, I found trying to get a particular 'look' takes ages.

I'm in, but not sure I want to stay in. I'll probably get slaughtered. LOL!

we're all in the slaughterhouse baby! well most of us with the exception of a select few.

Me, I'm sticking with Water Bottles. I entered a water bottle that took me 5 mins to shoot and 10 mins to process. Then yesterday I entered a different water bottle instead. Same bottle, different "pose". Another 10 mins processing, out of same shoot. Total time investment: maybe 30 minutes. Not having to face Manny head-to-head on his turf: priceless :-)

But I'll be voting on y'all, and I may even give out a Golden Bear Paw on this one. Stay tuned!

Those few are selected for a fair sneer in the contingency plan.

i'm in. im giving my image a 5.3. not because it is so, but i sense a very high standard for this challenge.

to make things more challenging, pp was done on a netbook with 600 pixels vertical resolution. Hehe. like bringing a knife to a gunfight.
