Me, I'm sticking with Water Bottles. I entered a water bottle that took me 5 mins to shoot and 10 mins to process. Then yesterday I entered a different water bottle instead. Same bottle, different "pose". Another 10 mins processing, out of same shoot. Total time investment: maybe 30 minutes. Not having to face Manny head-to-head on his turf: priceless :-)

But I'll be voting on y'all, and I may even give out a Golden Bear Paw on this one. Stay tuned!

R.

Jeez! I should have went that way. Make up took 2 hours!

Eeep! I'm in, not been this nervous about a challenge entry in a long time. I've also not spent soooo long meticulously editing in a while, good to shake the cobwebs of my work flow a bit.

I'm curious to know what you folks are nervous about. Self portrait nudes? :)

Fear of Failure? Fear of Success? lol, I don't even know to be honest.
Portrait photography is something I really like but consider myself very inexperienced at it.
I feel like this was a really intimidating challenge and I gave it my best shot, and I am nervous about my score being slaughtered after working so hard at it.

I know you are supposed to just enter a picture you like and not care about the score, but I can't do that in this one, because portrait photography is something I would legitimately like to pursue. I feel like, if I get a good score I will be affirmed that I can do that, and if I get slaughtered, its like saying "Look elsewhere, this isn't for you".

Nah! it doesn't mean you are not good at portrait work, it just means you may not be good at copying someone else's style. And even though I think librodos style is exceptionally good, it doesn't mean your style had to be like his to be good.

I think I am more nervous because sometimes when you try to copy someone else's work that is exactly what it looks like "a copy" and probablly a bad one at that. Oh well, I like my shot and it was fun challenge for me. I hope I still think that when voting starts.

I really wanted to give some portraiture a shot on this. I even had the wife agree to model, but she ended up having a business trip come in the way. I reluctantly settled for a water bottle entry.
