We always have the 'how u doing' threads as soon on the first up and down day.

What's more exciting is how are you doing on the final day!

Well..?
08/31/2004 12:16:53 PM · #2
Actually, the final day(s) always seem dull to me - not as many votes or comments come in; if more votes did come in they are not going to change my score by that much - so for me, I'm locked into a mediocre score with few comments as it looks like my fairy tale will be as well. Both are at ~5.6 with single-digit comments.
08/31/2004 12:30:26 PM · #3
Yeah, I'm at about 5.6 in "hope" with 10 comments... I'm thinking many of my pictures votes will be high and many low, some people love it and some people don't...

Anyway, most of my pictures surge up a couple of tenths on the last day for some reason.

I'm sitting at 3.1 with high hopes of it hitting it's peake at 3.2 *laughs*

It's been fun seeing the mindset of some who've commented on my photo. It's been quite a learning experience for me. So far, nearly 400 views of my work... I've never had that kind of an audience before. It's exciting!

I was hoping this might be my best score but it dropped 0.15 points in the last 24hrs.

I am very happy with this one. Not sure if Hope was high scoring or low, so might end up in top20 or if lucky enough, then top10 :>

I peaked at 4.4 overnight, but am down to 4.39 this morning.

Quite frankly, I just want this challenge to be done. A week seems like an *AWFULLY* long time when it's your very first challenge.. I can't wait for framing to start!

I wish I had only 130odd votes, because with around those many votes I was at a score of 6.88 :D (if I am remember correctly ). This is the first challenge when I stayed above 7.0 after 40votes and now I am at 6.61 :(

(was at 7.4409 2 votes ago.)

I am so hoping to break the current highest
image vote on this site for the Olympus E-10
as one of my goals on DPC.

Eh, there's still time so long as what I have seen
happen in the past: Ever notice? doesn't happen again.

I am *GOING* to break the current high score for the Fuji Finepix S7000! I SWEAR IT! (I didn't feel like finding the link to the camera, so you can just click on it under my name if you want to see it (btw: there's no picture of it in the database.. get to it people! ;))

I don't know when I will though.. the first challenge I'll be using it on will be Tourist Traps..

err.. Travel Guides.

I was so hoping to break my Canon EOS-300D Rebel before submitting to the Hope challenge, where I'm sitting on a fairly average 5.6776. ;-)

Good luck, Brad! I don't think the blue ribbon is in doubt. Worth noting that 7.44 is enough to make the first page of highest rated DPC photos when viewed 8 across (you're already on page 2).

Take care

...Don't be so hard on yourself, Shannon...I bet Mrs. scalvert would rate what you sit on as better than average, otherwise she wouldn't still be keeping you around! ;o)

I wish I had an average that high.

Plenty of members wish they had a 5.2 average, too. It's been noted in several threads that 5.5 is the average between 1 and 10, but only a handful of members can maintain a 6+ average (kiwiness, heida, jacko, jmsetzler, smokeditor and a few others). That's my goal.

Amen to that! The suspense is killing me. Click! Click! Click! Click! Click! Click! Click! I hope my framing entry does better than 5.4

lol. that's the funniest thing I've read in a long time.

As per the average. I'm glad my average isn't really high. It would mean I was trying too hard. I have fun submitting some photos that I know are going to do poorly. I don't think staying about 6 would be all that hard if your goal was to stay above 6 rather than have fun and experiment with photography and with possible responses from a wide audience.

I am disappointed! I got so many good comments but my score is just okay. But with my choice of subject .. I was asking for a few low votes anyway ... you'll see what I mean

edit: here's what I mean:

I still got 87% though! I'm happy with that. Thats my siamese/tabby, Lily. She's such a great model for me :)

You shouldn't be. 87% is nothing to sneeze at (better than my 84%). You've got some jaw-dropping portfolio shots too- especially given your point and shoot camera.
