Well guys, here it is, my pet shot. This is my little siamese/tabby mix named Lily. This cute girl flew all the way down from Texas to Newfoundland a year ago and has been a "Meowmie's Girl" ever since. ;) hehe Man its so hard to get a decent shot of a cat .. they squirm so much!!

I hope I do well with this image (well, don't we all!), but I'm not holding my breath .. unfortunately. I have no idea how this will do!

From the critique club...
Overall - not bad at all. I like the high key, lighting and colors. The only concern is tight and inconsistent cropping. The boder touches the cup? cuts the paw and reaches the ear. I would cut 1/3 of the cup but leave space on top and bottom.

Since I can tell what the cat wants, I non-randomly select a 6 for you.

Love the white background. Good balance.

Not your normal "pet" shot. Good job. My cat has the exact same dish!

Love the expression on his face. You have really done an excellent job capturing the beauty of his eyes. He definitely looks hopeful. I gave this very good marks because it fits the challlenge so well and because this photo is sharply focused and has great colors and is overall very well composed.

My only suggestion for improvement would be to have gotten all of that front paw in the frame!

Good luck!

This conveys the challenge's theme very well. I like the sharpness in it and the use of lights is great. the cat's right feet should all be in the frame.

What a face! How could you resist that long enough to take a picture? 7

Wonderfully well done technically, especially for basic editing. Too twee, for me, to be a really exciting image, but it's a good average.

What a cute picture! It really does convey hope, too. The color is great and I like the plain white background. I wish I could get my cats and dog to pose for pictures.

excellently captured, near perfect technical details. I looked at it for a few minutes trying to see if i could come up with any constructive criticism and I cant... your photo is pretty near perfect

It's pretty rare that I look at a photograph -especially a staged one- and think that the lighting is just perfect, but I think you've achieved that with this shot. And it's a great picture for this challenge. Really excellent job.

This would be better with a couple crumbs in the dish for realism. You could use something other than actual cat food so it wouldn't distract your excellent model.

Awwwwwwww. . . . I love this picture! I hope you didn't starve the little fellow just so he would "hope" for some dinner, but then. . . .ummmm. . . I guess it doesn't look like he's missed too many meals :) Great capture of the sentiment of hope!

A really nice kitty picture! He looks so plaintive (and hopeful). Good composition and colors. My only small suggestion is to have the crop not cut off his right paw at the bottom. - 7

This is EXACTLY what I wanted to do, but couldn't get my cat to co-operate on s suitable background. Nice pic. I "hope" it does well.
