Create a diptych with "before" & "after" self portraits. Before what? after what? that's up to you. Yellow flag to allow the diptych. |

Can someone please explain the extra rule for this challenge? I can't figure out why 1-10 captures are allowed for a diptych, which is only two. Thanks for the help. |

It's not required. It's allowed as part of the Advanced rule set. |

Same question. Can we combine 5 pictures for part 1 and 5 pictures for part 2 using photoshop? It's expert editing then.
I keep reading the advanced rules to figure out. |

It's my understanding that the 1-10 captures rule in Advanced is to allow HDR and/or focus stacking. Things you can do with 1-10 captures of the exact same scene.
The extra rule is to allow the diptych.
The "before" pic is Advanced rules. The "after" pic is Advanced rules. The extra rule is to allow the combination of the two in a diptych only.

I was sort of relieved to see 0 entries so far... either I'm not the only one drawing a blank for ideas or everyone else is currently shooting their awesome concept and will blow whatever I finally come up with out of the water.
Probably option 2. |

To reiterate what pixelpig said:
The challenge is being run under Advanced Editing rules. Each image used in the challenge should follow those rules as if it were a stand-alone image.
The challenge also has a flagged Extra Rule: you are allowed to use two different images (each of which may be a stacked image per the advanced rules) to create your diptych.

Is a diptych required to have a visible border between the two photos?
I've shot and edited mine but it doesn't have one, wondering if that implies it's a single scene (it isn't) and if it would get it DQ'd. |

IMO you're safe. Past diptych challenges have had some entries with no border, without a DQ penalty. |

Ha only 6 entries, wondering if everyone who enters will be in the top ten, could be a first! |

There's no DQ mandate on this flag. DNMC will not get a DQ, just possibly lower votes for not "being" a diptych. |

It is from two different photos though... I'll wing it, it's pretty obvious what technique was used and could have been done in one exposure with enough patience

What is the fewest entries in a challenge ever? Will this one be it? |
