Welcome to this week's "Member of the Week" post. Every week I will post the name of a member and a link to their profile. This will be our Member of the Week. Go have a look at their profile page and/or portfolio. Enjoy their photos, leave some comments and most of all post one or two of their photos in this thread so others can see them and enjoy them. If you like you can also write a little blurb saying why you enjoy this member's photos.
This week's Member of the Week is GeneralE. And here are a couple of his photos.

Lordy me, he TRIMMED! Here's how I saw him this past spring:
Here's how he's looking this fall, by his own camera...
I didn't think you had it in you, Paul, but lovely to see you "recognized" regardless of the state of your hirsuteness :-)

It's about flippin' TIME!!!
(Only 4 digits in the ID #??!!!!!!)
and
This last image may be my favorite, because it captures the very same thing I see/feel when out and about, and discover some tiny bit of light creating magic in some obscure, unnoticed place. Although they don't usually make particularly good pictures, I always feel compelled to try anyway. Light flips me out :-) |

I have appreciated both your photography and contribution to dpchallenge as a site council member, as well as a voice of intelligence and reason in the forums. You have added a lot to my dpchallenge experience.
I also especially like that you enter shots that you like, but you have to know in advance that dpc voters will not vote highly. |

good choice. one of the few photographers who makes me ask, "Gee, I wonder what so-and-so shot for this challenge?" |

Sometimes a person's sense of humor just shines through photography ...
Never lose it, GeneralE

Thank you all ... I was in some ways hoping Karen would overlook doing this until she had to pick from among 1000 challenge entries ... ;-)
I think you all have done a pretty good job of picking what are some of my own favorite pictures -- quite a few of them are meaningful to me personally as well as having been entries.
I know it's unlikely that I will match the technical excellence of so many photographers here, and I try to concentrate more often on finding an interpretation of the topic which others won't be using (or that I haven't used before) -- not always successfully ... ;-)
In the past i've summarized this approach as being more concerned with capturing a quality image than with the image quality. For better or worse, that's probably not going to change. |

The General. I missed this. Shooting what he likes and liking what he shoots. He makes no apologies. He's met his aspirations before the challenge even begins. We can all learn something from the General.

I thank Paul for just being a marvelous contributor to this site. Really, it would not be the same, at all, without him. |
