Photo 4 - I'm going to break my own rules here and post one that's not a reprocess, and it's not new. It's from Dec 31st of 2010, so close enough! I entered the b/w into December's Freestudy where it did holy-crap-awful, but picked up a couple recognitions in the Posthumous thread. I've been itching to post the finished product, because I'm so damn proud of it. Never again will I buy bread from the store!

A few people noted that it doesn't "look" cold in the image. I live in the sub-tropics, so the sun comes in from a different angle than up there at the arctic circle. The sun, when it shines, regardless of temperature, is always very intense. Also, it was near sunset, so the light was fairly golden - not something you'll see in upper latitudes in the winter. When I was doing that shoot, it was about 46 with a windchill of 38F.

My grandson is doing the BMX thing now, so I figured that I would go support him some and see how the D7000 shoots night sports under HPS lighting. This is not Robbie, but it's straight from the camera.
It was shot all manual, using an old 85 f1.8 Nikkor H C from the 1960's
I think that it will clean up nicely with a little editing.

I am going to add a few from today. Feel free to comment on one, none, or all of the above. I have 500 photos from today and would love to have this day everyday. I have so many good photos I feel giddy. LOL

Funny, Roz - I was just going to post a disclaimer note like that, too. Usually, I'm much better with the commenting. Don't have my head together here in Florida. I think my brain is still on the moving truck. |
