I've heard that here in Fremont County, CO, we have the largest "per capita" population of Mountain Lions in the US. I love seeing them - just not too close! We had an incident several years ago, where a young male lion decided to visit the Holy Cross Abbey here in town. A lady was praying in the chapel and the lion padded right down the aisle and up the steps to the sacristy... then he lay down in front of the alter and "huffed" at the lady (who was probably altering her prayers at that moment). She managed to back out of the chapel and escape. The Division of Wildlife came and tranquilized the lion and relocated him to a much more remote location - no harm done. He must have been exploring for awhile. They found tufts of lion hair in a number of offices and all up and down the hallway after he left. Apparently he had recently eaten and was just paying a curiosity visit.

That was probably NOT this lion.... I am always amazed to see how big their feet are....

Maybe the mountain lion needed to confess his sins. Nice tones through the contrasts and shadows in the image. Great backstory.

These are beautiful animals Patsy, but I think better from a distance. If the lady praying was me I think I'd still be saying them.

Oh! That's too funny about the church visit! I would have loved to have seen that. This is a fantastic animal. I've always been fasinated by the big cats.

Very nice - good textures and tones and the chocolate sepia works well, but i'd like a landscape crop
