August 21. Just getting this out of my system. I told my wife I was going to post this in the Yellow challenge and she laughed. So now everyone else can giggle while I look for something else.

This was taken at dusk along the bridge/walkway across part of the swamp near the Phila. Airport. These Spiders were very active as it got closer to dark. |

Sorry scoter97. I have a thing about spiders. The thumbnails were as close as I'm gonna get, but they look pretty damn fierce... |

No pictures until I got my 30D I ordered. I always wanted 30D way before I knew about 40D. Although 40D has many other enhancements, 30D is the one I can afford right now, which I know is a big leap from 350D (Rebel world) to a better world.
I don't need live view, I don't need video recording and fast burst. I need quality images, which 30D produces. Next, if there is a next, I am thinking about 5D Mark II. However, I don't think I can live that long to save enough money LOL.
I will enjoy my new (used) camera. By the way, just for the record (as I mention on other post) I paid $400 ($380) for the body, battery grip and two extra batteries... so it seems like a good deal. I am hoping my 350D will reach up to $300 (eBay, ending Sunday night), so my actual pay would be around $100.

I bought a used 30D and have been really pleased with it. I think you can go crazy, spending way too much money, when a good (but maybe slightly outdated)one can work great. You'll love it. I like that it feels like a real camera in my hand - maybe a bit too weighty for some, but it's my preference. Have fun!!

M only concern is the sensors and the mirror/shutter mechanism. They are the ones go bad first, like hot/dead pixels or faulty mirror or shutter. I have bought many stuff from eBay and sold too. I never had a bad experiences yet with the sellers or buyers. Always read the reviews and this guy I am going to buy has 100% review with more than 1000 transaction, better chance to take. As long as it works the way it suppose to, I don't mind the mileage either. I go by the years not buy the usage, even for a car. 30Ds came out in 2006, fairly new camera. So, with some cosmetic changes which I didn't see obvious one in closeup shots of the camera, I am very comfortable with it. 30Ds are selling still over a grand in Amazon, new or refurbished maybe around $800-$900. They are still in the market as high-end cameras (not top of the line though), I am not underestimating them. I used them at Picture People, and I love the results. It will be a huge leap from 350D rebel.
Can't wait :) |
