Not a door. A pair of shutters. Not lobstering; it's an oystering skiff. That area (Wellfleet) has lots of small oyster farms in the tidal flats, which are extensive. The shutters are the "work table". |

totally missed the door until i read other ppl's comments .. !!
and now my sense of size is all out .. if that was a full sized door then the boat would be a lot bigger than i originally thought .. its also amazing how such a simple shot when studied becomes a lot more .. the lining up of the boat and the wharf and the other boat .. the light and shadows .. the ropes .. the colours .. its a great image .. :) |

LOL! I guess they needed a wider perch. I spent so much time as a kid/teen on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, I miss having this stuff around me. And I really miss having that kind of access to the crabs! |

I get to always be near the water, vicariously through your photos. There's just something about boats, the dock, the bucket, the rope. I like it. |
