??? No disrepect intended here but your point, "still life study...with an interesting background and lighting", could easily be applied to the image you entered. Yes/No?

The point, right or wrong, was the voters needed to see evidence the subject of the photo no longer worked as intended. I think this example fully meets that goal. Why don't you think so? |

Actually I like Jac's photo and gave it a high score (see this thread) - I think that his photo is very close to the scenario described (with a simple still life). |

Barry, if you remove my image from the context of this challenge you still see an object that will not work as it once did. If you remove that watch image I mentioned, and I have to say again that I'm not targeting any particular image, and view it out of context to this challenge then all I see is a still life of an old watch. That's the only point I'm trying to make here. I'm not trying to twist anyones perception of how a challenge should be interpreted. To show the viewer that something isn't working as it once did you need to show me the why and how it doesn't work as it once did. Photographing it and then telling me through the forum that it's broken or giving me a descriptive title doesn't cut it for me. It's the photograph that needs to get that message across, not the title or the already mentioned forum thread.
Oh and thanks for the mention in the Posthumous thread. :)
