Actually, this is a very good point. Now that there are more than two challenges, I think the lowest two should be dropped from the scorebaord on people's final score. Otherwise there could be a major shock for someone at the end when the lowest two are dropped.
So really,
Jomerner is really in the lead with -9
However, ericwoo is not really in second place; he's only at -7 and danculwell is beating him because he as -8
Melethia is not at 8, she's at -1.7
So I do think the spreadsheet should reflect the dropping of the lowest two scores, or people who think they're in the lead could have a nasty surprise at the end. |
It would just be difficult to do this. I would have to constantly update previous weeks as welll as the current week to reintroduce stats that are not in the bottom 2. I will, after week 8, drop the lowest two, so that going into the final hole everyone knows where they stand. Recall also that the rules are that you cannot take a mulligan in the final hole to avoid anyone coasting to a finish... so missed entries on the ninth hole are scored at 0.
ETA: Nov. 4
Regarding the part in italics above, this wasnt actually written in the rules after all, so mulligans can be used in all 9 holes.

Whoa, I didn't realize that... Gonna be hard on anyone with a vacation scheduled or an unexpected trip to the hospital or whatever. Thanks for the heads-up.

OK...
I have made the necessary corrections to gg3rd and jdannels' scores. Huge congratulations to gg3rd for an outstanding week, scoring -11.5 for the hole with his 5th place shot. Takes him to -14 overall.
The scores will be updated online when the new spreadsheet will be uploaded, which should be within the next hour or so.
Thanks again everyone, and good luck next week.
B
ETA:
There is another side challenge announced recently that all golfers should consider as well. The MS Tournament and the Golf side challenge both use the open challenges, so you shoot one photo and it can work for both. Even better, you can win money in the MS Tournament.

this was one of my ideas but I wasn't sure and Thank You Wendy and Karen for your examples...that is what I had thought but I just wasn't sure...good now maybe I can keep playing...it's hard for me with some of these challenges as I don't "think" out of the box that much and I worry that I have stupid ideas... |

Amateur.... I have at least a +7 to go with my original +11. Ha! I'll still be doing worse than those who haven't played a hole yet. (It's a sick goal, but I need a goal....) |

No worries...thanks again for putting this together. Its the first thing that has got me out shooting for challenges consistently since WPL/dpl. Take as much time as it takes.

Funny, that was also the first thing that came to my mind. Fortunately I didn't have time to do it and entered a 5 minute shot into "Artificial Light"... |

Not recovered, but mostly replaced by insurance. There is still about $3000 to recover in their depreciation formula, but that will all happen pretty soon. What a relief it was to get that $15000 check. If anyone is ever looking, The Hartford is one amazing company, at least in my opinion. Thanks for asking!
