That's cool, Neil.... And here's a people-shot from the landscape shooter, for Deb. I was quite taken by the hand-in-hand shadow on the tablecloth behind, which has no relationship to the subject in reality but seemed to imply a hovering mother nonetheless...

I hate to hog space, but I had another terrific day helping out, and shooting, down at the M&H Railroad.
This is a reject for the Window challenge.....not enough depth out the window for that PRR insignia. I love the forlorn air of the image, though.....
This is Ryan.....he's one of the delightful engineers at M&H.
The M&H Railroad has a Dinner Train.....as you can see, they have a lovely setup. I love the light at the "Table for Two".

Of course, I had first to do a little work before I could play......had to get the pinion gear off the end of the armature of the electric motor for the streetcar.

No big thing, really......just had to take a big grinder with a cut-off wheel and hack through the gear with chisels wedged behind it to exert forward pressure. Once I cut the notch deep enough and pounded on the chisel in the notch hard enough, it let go.

I like ALL of those, Jeb! What a fun day you must have had (after the work was finished). |

I really did!
What's amusing to me is their total amazement that I'm both a mechanic and a photographer.
Much fun!

Mushrooms are speaking to me at the moment. Dunno why, they just do. I love the shapes, the texture, the fact they scare me so I wont actually touch them (just incase!) & that they hide in the undergrowth. And maybe cos they always feature in fairy stories.
Anyway, as soon as I saw these shrooms I knew what I would do to edit them. It aint out of this world or anything, but I like it & thats what I take pictures for..

OK, I'll take this a little more literally since Melethia is part of the side challenge.
I recently had a business trip to Freiburg (im Breisgau). I was actually hoping to meet up with Melethia but I never had the chance. So, here are two photos from Freiburg, the herz jesu kirche.
This was the view from my hotel each morning and evening, which is why I posed both.

A trip with Deb in her new motor home, or a trip to Cape Cod for a clambake, your choice...

Shot a bunch on Saturday. Playing with a new lens and I think I'm going to like it for candids. A bit more obvious than my 24-105, but it is fun!

Haha! Took a while, but I just KNEW my 70-200 would seduce you in the end! So now you've got my tripod, my 10-22, and my 70-200 (except yours has IS) all emulated to go with the spiffy new 7D. Did ya get the tripod collar for it? If not, DO.

LOL! No tripod collar. I'll consider that. And the 10-22 works just fine on the 7D. :-) |

I believe we'll be getting us one of those shortly. Penny's using the 20D right now, and we'd been thinking to replace that with the 5Dmk2, but the 7D is sounding real spiffy, nice to have the ability to use the EF-S arsenal instead of having to trade up. And the extra reach, of course....

I will say that so far I am pleased with it. It is a bit bigger and heavier than the 30D, but not overly so. Most of the functions are similar enough that I can at least begin to use it, though I've yet to figure out lots of things on it. I'm reading the manual a little at a time. :-) |

I had this thought for the window challenge, but am so tired of sub 4 scores that I did not enter it. I am not DPC friendly the last photos I have entered have sucked big time. I think to far outside the box for most people. |

I know that Robert likes landscapes, but probably not so much the silhouette shots like this. I shot it because of the orange and blue.
