Ok I am assuming that as the challenge states square, that any image based on rectangles that have sides that are not of equal length will be a DNMC
 What does the panel think?

 Square

		| Well, a rectangle is not a square and a ptarmigan is not a pigeon but that didn't seem to matter! LOL |

		| Reading the description, to me, it's the subject that needs to be square, not the aspect ratio. |

I was meaning the definition of square as it relates to the subject

ie a square is a special case of a rectangle in which all four sides are of equal length.
If this criterion is not met it is not a square. |

hmmm interesting possibility... I assume you mean putting rectangles together to form a square |

		| I'm wondering if they are having a similar conversation about circles vs ovals in the circle thread. |

Indeed as of course a circle is simply a special case of the ellipse in which the major axis is equal to the minor axis.
In addition when a circle is viewed from and angle it may appear as an ellipse so from that standpoint I would expect that circles appearing elliptical meet the challenge.

The same theory applys, of course, to a square

 Hmmm new food for thought.

By the way this is all tongue in cheek eh :) |

I think the get out clause is in the challenge title.....

Description:	The main subject of your photograph should be square shaped......"square shaped" i.e. - shaped "like" a square

argh! I sent my pictures to my mother-in-law (she's interested in seeing them) and her only comment was "looks like rectangles to me"

I really thought they were close enough... |

OK SOMEONE ANYONE.. I cannot get my photo right for this challenge for some dam reason the file size isn't working and when I crop or optimize it seems to be making it worse...I love my image but cant get it under 151 kb ~D~ And does the EXIF info have to be saved on the pic we post or only on the original?

Just on the original. You can leave out the exif to save a couple of K. |
