went for a walk yesterday & wanted to process these pics ..
i'd installed the trial version of cs4 a couple of days ago ..
when i opened cs3 to do the processing it closed when i tried to do a smart sharpen .. its never happened before ..
i got this msg ..
"Microsoft visual C++ runtime library
runtime error!
Program:C\program files\adobe\adobe cs3\photoshop.exe
R6025
-pure virtual function call"
anyone know wot that could possible mean .. ??
the trial cs4 didnt work either .. & cs2 had new problems .. all seemed to have different issues ...
so i had nothing i could edit photographs on .. !!
this morning i uninstalled the trial cs4 ..
cs3 still isnt working .. cs2 is working after uninstalling cs4 trial version .. ???????
i've got the computer guy coming on wednesday so we can sort out a few issues my computer has been having ..
can be pretty scarey when things go wrong .. !! |

Day 2
 |
|
|
08/02/2009 10:23:44 PM · #103 |
Custom white balance setting (CFL) to shift the colors under diffuse daylight*, with just a little extra light falling on the one inflorescence making it stand out from the others and the background of red plum tree leaves.
*That is, when I went out to take some flower pics before the sun went away I forgot to change the WB setting from my previous session before getting started --> close enough to "snapshot" for me ... ;-)
ETA: Apparently Langdon liked it too ... print now available. :-)

Snapshot taken to try and identify this really odd looking bug on this flower. Anyone have any idea what the heck this is? Looked like an inchworm with all sorts of stuff sticking out of it.

Pretty much nothing left, huh? What was the cause? |
Not sure what started it...but yeah, it was gone. It was pretty much gone before anyone even got on scene. Nobody was home.
To answer other's questions...she does have insurance, but not enough to replace the house. Ironically enough the only thing she wanted saved were the ashes to her first husband. |

I can see the headline: Ashes Destroyed In Fire
Aw nuts! Here's one I took quickly earlier this evening to show someone what part to buy at the hardware store ... cropped, grayscale.

I took this in March but I've been looking for a way to get it some exposure. It's not really a set-up shot so I'll call it a snapshot :D (Actually, what is the definition of a snapshot?)

Went out to Home Depot at lunchtime and found some. Thanks.
This is for all the Topaz haters. |

Sharing this just for fun. It's very much a snapshot and probably wouldn't have seen the light of day here otherwise. |

I can do without the nuts (I think it's a guy thing) but the dancers are delightful! I'm heading out in the morning for a short trip - will try to get on when I can and comment when I can. And will definitely work on getting some snapshots. In the mean time, here's one to go with tamatama's, which was also taken while out riding a bike. I did not, however, get wet. :-) I like taking shots of the things I ride past - may only mean something to me, but isn't that what a snapshot is quite often?

That is it exactly! A memory or moment in time for you, but to anyone else, a snapshot. Who do you take photos for? You, friends and relatives, not us lot on DPC...except for this side challenge:)) |
