The 7.7 I had when I went to bed the first night is long gone but it is still doing OK. I think my processing may help me with some and hurt me with others.
Ja-9 is a great commentor but hasn't found mine yet!

If the next 68 votes were all 1 my score would be 3.73

I was up to 5.6-something. Got a nice 10 today, followed shortly afterwards by a 2. Would love to have insight into those low votes, but that the usual complaint we all have, isn't it?

Interesting that we question the low votes but not when we get a ten.
But then we often think our photos all deserve a ten- I know most of mine do- hehe! Since it is an average of all votes it does balance out. Maybe not at the absolute number we wanted but relative to all of the other entries.

I was just thinking the same thing. Sure, if someone votes low it's nice to see why they did so we can improve upon certain aspects of our photography, but isn't it just as helpful for someone who voted high to tell you what was so great about the photo? that way, you'd know what to continue doing in the future, which is just as helpful in my opinion as knowing what to avoid. the rules say to leave constructive criticism for a 3 or below, maybe they should also say to leave justification for votes 8 and above too ;)
i've been around a 5.4 the whole time. pretty much on par for my past free study performance and nothing to make me feel one way or the other. i just like to take pictures and share them |

I dunno, the majority of ribbon winners on this site are photographs I'd rather know how not to take.

good point! though I'd be happy to have taken many of the ribbon shots though as you say not all of them. I have the full set of ribbons and whilst yes, we all like the good scores I'm coming round to taking shots for myself (and maybe small groups here) these days and if other folks like them then its even better.
I think I'll be spending more time on side challenges after the June FS finishes and wait till this weird voting culture smooths out :) |

My score has gone down but I'm so excited that I got a comment! I've done my score for everyone.. Now I'm just going back and trying to comment and I've adjusted my scores (so far only gone up so please don't beat me up). :)
