LOL! I think he meant me. But no, mine just knows I've been looking for something because I run out everyday when he drives up.

All I found in the mail was results for Glamor and Grunge, from BrianR and Quigley!

I have added details to my image fro the Grunge challenge. If you have not taken a look, please do and if you already have, please feel free to do so again. There are very important and reveling things in there about a fellow team member :)

Not good chocolate! LOL! Hershey's just doesn't make the grade.

I think the only US based chocolate we get in the UK are Mars products, mars bars, marathons (sorry, Snickers), Bounty etc. We eat far too much chocolate in the UK, and it is the main manufacturing industry in the town I live in (home of Kit-Kats and smarties). Mmmm, might just have to pop into the newsagents on my way home from work...

That's because US chocolates can't compete with European chocolates. LOL! The best we can get here are Godiva (which are excellent, but of course imported) but way too expensive to buy very often.

There is a little shop in Pickering, a lovely little Yorkshire market town, that just sells home-made chocolates and home-made ice-cream. The chocolates are each a work of art, and oh so delicious - but also oh so expensive - over £3 per 100g. We had an ice-cream last weekend - sour cherry and ginger for me, and it was, without a doubt, the nicest ice-cream I have ever had.

I think Godiva shocolates are made in Wisconsin or someplace, not imported. The are several higher-end chocolate manufacturers (e.g. Guittard, Scharffenberger) and chocolatiers (Donneley's, Hoopers, Charles Chocolates, etc.) in the Bay Area.

In the meantime, it's usually possible to get Lindt chocolates in the US ...

I find Lindt to taste no better than Hershey's. But apparently you're right about Godiva, they started production in the US in the late 1970's.

The company had by now set up a second headquarters in New York and an American production facility in Reading, Pennsylvania, though European customers were still supplied by a plant in Belgium. Some debated the relative merits of Godiva chocolates from Belgium versus those made in the United States, but the company dismissed such concerns, noting that it used the same supplier for its raw chocolate but created unique recipes for different markets, factoring in regional preferences for sweetness and flavorings. Additionally, laws in some states limiting alcohol content required that American recipes omit certain liqueur-based flavoring agents that were preferred in Europe.

Yeah, that's the problem. We can get lots of really good chocolate over here but pay through the nose for them. And it always tastes better when it's an unexpected gift of chocolate, doesn't it? :-)

Lindt is okay. Not crazy about Godiva. Melethia is my favorite brand.

You guys are too funny! Glad your package finally made it Kelli, for your mailman's sake at least! :-)

Oh, and we definitely get some seriously spiked chocolate here. My friend brought back some Belgian "coffee" chocolates. Meant to be eaten with a nice cup of espresso, and dang, those were good. Could only eat one, though. Too rich to eat more than that.

When it rains it pours. Ever since my car accident last year, I just can't catch a break.

The latest? I knocked a hole in my radiator somehow, and am now stuck with not even being able to drive it, a 7 year old I have to get from school somehow later today, 3 other kids to get around, and a $500 repair job that I don't even know how I'll begin paying.

Honestly. Can the world just give me a motherlovin' break here?

Hmm...the 7 yr old could walk to/from school with you, and surely you could always sell off a child or two, that would help pay for the rad. Then maybe adopt em back when it's paid for ;-)
